The check engine light could very well be because of an interrupted DPF cleaning cycle, it happens a lot.

SUV Diesel and 220 kmh max. it is what it is- apart from that a Good reliable allrounder i think

I used to own the 4.2 V8 Diesel Cayenne and the V6 at the same time. The V8 was more powerful, quieter, quicker and more fuel efficient!

Did a comparison to prove this to a mate of mine. We did a set 52 mile journey in both cars, same driving condition; v8 did 42.1 mpg and v6 did 38 mpg. Same average speed of 50 mph. V8 had 90k miles on the clock and the V6 40k miles on the clock.

i have a 2012 cayenne 3.0 diesel, i had 243 m/h as a top speed, i dont know what's wrong with this one, i think with the light engine is on ,which cause the probleme, the EGR or FAP are full of dust which make car less dynamic and fast, i have raced, maserati ghibli and touareg 2019, and i won, it's not actually me but the car

i have same car ( 2016 ) just chip tuned ( external box - speedbuster ) max speed 260 km with full loaded backage/Family, holiday trip 🙂

BMW 30/40d and Mercedes 400d are all inline-6 and therefore inherently better than a V6

The good things about BMW and Mercedes, both are inline engines and not V6 like Porsche, also both are still in production unlike the Porsche who stopped the production of its diesel engine since 2018.

The Mercedes 400d is way more powerful than a 30d or this Porsche. 350d would fit better.

OMG yeah, inline 6 engines are so beautiful coz they're naturally balanced. And i know Merc 400d engine is a masterpiece, 700 Nm of torque right from 1200-3000 rpm, and it's very quiet 😮‍💨

I have the cayenne 92a without the facelift, also v6 tdi But the engine only has 550 nm and i would like to have 580 as well😅

Yeah my dad had one too (v8) and it was modified to 450hp. We kicked the ass of an rs3 and it was real fast (287 km/h)

a run on the autobahn ought to give enough chance to clean the DPF :)

It's really slow for a car with 262 hp and such tork.

What's the point of paying Porsche money for a car that's as fast as VW Touareg or Audi Q7 or any SUV with a 3.0 diesel??

This car is now cheaper because it's an "old" version of the cayenne. It's possible to afford one for 35 000$ in good condition. Porsche is Porsche, even if it's the same engine in a Q7 or a Touareg, if you choose the cayenne you will have the design and the quality of a Porsche.

Similar question would be why would you buy Audi when you can buy VW or Škoda? Because, similar to your question, they share quite a lot of parts but still ride and feel different. However you've got a point about buying a Porsche with 3-litre diesel, if you want to save money, why would you buy Porsche in the first place.
