The Chevrolet Volt is a brilliant car to buy. A hidden gem. We love ours.

It is NOT an all electric car! It IS a plug-in hybrid. I have owned four Volts, and currently own a 2017 model. I actually enjoy owning and driving the Volt more than I enjoy my 2022 Tesla Model S, my sixth Tesla.

Use to be able to get a manual but now you can't find how to change a tire. Thanks for all the new up sets. ( Please don't do us any more favors )!😂

GM still provides a paper manual as well as access to a digital one.

It would still be made and would be the best selling vehicle if they had made it in a cross-over.

It was the number one selling plug in hybrid/ range extended EVs in North America, not the number one selling vehicle. They would still make it if it was the number one selling vehicle. They're great though. If they had put the Voltec system in their whole lineup it could have been extremely successful and put us on a better path for mass adoption of EVs than the current plan of going all in on pure EVs.

Sorry if I missed stating Best Selling EV, that's what I meant. I also agree, had GM rolled this powertrain into other vehicles it would be a perfect balance. However consumers what pure electric.

@@RVing_TV I gathered that you just misspoke. There's a huge part of the population that wants nothing to do with EVs though. If the whole lineup was EVs or range extended EVs though, I'm betting that the vast majority would choose range extended.

Just saying, the volt will drive the wheels with the gas engine in some situations. The voltec system is a very impressive feat of engineering.

Yes, there is a planetary gear that can be engaged under hard acceleration and steep hill climbs. Very rare for this connection to occur. I have felt it maybe twice in 6 years of driving two different volt models.

@@JosephHowes2003 slight surge of power barely noticeable and it engages on large hills and high throttle input or extreme throttle input. Foot to the floor from what I have been told.

Ontario Canada does not offer the $1,000 rebate anymore for plug-in hybrids. Only available for fully electric vehicles.

it is really good, but you will need snow tires. Deep snow will give you an issue as the car is low, however I have never gotten stuck. I also live in Ontario in the snow belt. Hope this helps.

I love my 2013 Chevy Volt still going strong but had a quick scare with the dreaded "service high voltage charging system" it turned out to be a quick reprograming of the computer by the dealer cost me $300 bucks. I feel it should have been free but they said had to pay technicians to do a full inspection. Oh well. Battery is still like new.
