2017 is a great year for the Volt because it got a complete redesign in 2016 and better than ever. For the generation II Volt Chevy went back to the drawing board and improved a lot of the short comings from the original Volt, which was still revolutionary but still had some flaws. The hybrid system is improved and the engine operates smoother than the generation 1 volt and also offers a longer driving distance on electric power alone, between 40 and 50 miles, before the engine ever needs to go on. Offering a number of driving modes to handle different driving situations the Volt is a vehicle that can make a great commuter and a good road tripper with its range extending gasoline engine. Gone is the space age styling and futuristic interior functionality, now the Volt is still a very handsome vehicle but looks and operates a lot more like a conventional Chevy Sedan.

A used model year 2017 would greatly benefit from having already had its EGR replaced and both the BECM and shift-to-park fixes having been done. That's about $4000 worth of repairs if out of warranty.
Using ABRP the route from Tacoma to Spokane shows about 10 minutes total charge time for 2018-2020 model 3 rwd long range.

Yes if you have at least a 70%-80% charge when you start your trip. But if you have a Standard Range Tesla or older Model S or X it might take two charging stops to make it.
How would it run ONLY on gas? I have no outdoor charging station. Besides at work which is free to use.

When the battery runs out the gas engine will fire up and allow you to drive it kind of like a hyrbid. If you dont have a charging station at home I would recommend looking at a non plug-in hybrid.

Without being able to charge, this amounts to a hybrid that gets maybe 40 mpg. Being able to charge overnight using only 120 volts makes a huge difference, though.
this video didnt age well. he keeps saying that people want evs. people do not want evs.

We still sell plenty, 10% of our used inentory is EVs.We sold over 40 used cars last month and 5 of them were EVs.
