Same here! I’m planning to get one of these or back to an s550 cash 💰 next year I currently drive a OBS 94 Silverado with the 350 small block.

My sunroof used to rattle too but then the part that was rattling finally shook itself free and loose. It seems like the sunroof now can move too far back making it harder to reach without the part that fell out. Took it to the dealer while getting recalls done and they didn’t know what to do with the part

The coating was nicely done!

I have a 2017 SS too. Like you, I wanted the stick, but they were sold out by the time I got there (the second day of 20% off). My SS also has the sun roof rattle, though it just started this summer, which means it's not isolated to cold weather.

Good review. Been watching for years until I got my own G8 and kinda stopped watching the updates and overviews. Did you sell your G8 or trade it out.

The sunroof on my 2017 doesn’t rattle. Guess I’m lucky. Love my SS.

I have a ‘17 SS also, but mine is a manual in white. A very nice car that most folks don’t even know about. How many miles did you get in the tires? I didn’t know you could swap sides with the tires - I thought they were unidirectional?

But do you like it more than the G8?

Real nice SS I have 2016 Calais v ls3 6.2 same thing - lux model I pull da relay out so exhaust valves stay open all the time , is above battery in boot-13500128 pull on cold motor so valves are right open, start car and pull, has nice rumble right though the rev range, cool SS mate

I have the rattle on both gxp and 17 ss and I was certain it’s from the sunroof .. I only get it it on bump transitions and thought they would have fixed it on SS by then .., I do agree I’d rather live with it then usual worst gm tech taking it apart ( or inmy experience leaving sunroof open thru over night rainfall ))

Do you have anything did to the exhaust?

Intake headers secondary cat delete muffler delete and a tune, you have yourself a bad ass reliable daily.

Nice car but as Brandon Utley said is it better than the G8 or basically the same, I was just thinking about the two and how they stack up !

Wayyyy better. In every way. Better engine....better suspension....better brakes....better interior....40% stiffer unibody frame....tons of modern tech upgrades....no shared panels other than doors and rocker moldings. They don't share many parts at all. Even the unibody structure is a next gen zeta platform, over 200 changes or something like that...just to the frame.

How is she running to date ?

First of all you are insane to talk the way you're talkin second of all you should keep your truck for snow purposes keep your Chevy SS enjoy the car love the car be one with the car then add on to it.

Hey!!!😡 You don't ever "get rid of" a Holden Commodore Series II SS....ever. You humbly and lovingly pass it on to the next lucky soul to cherish and enjoy for as long as they choose... You get rid of mouldy bread, dirty nappies and shitty girlfriends... Never your chariot. Ever. R.I.P Holden Commodore....1979-2019. As usual, Chevy is always late to the game! Pontiac discontinued the G-8 almost 10 years ago and Chevy didn't come out with the SS back then! Big time miss for Chevy, but al least the finally came out with the SS! I'll excuse them since they came out with the C-8!

I liked the 2006 GTO better than the G8

America should've get The Australian Holden Commodore instead of this shit one.

I stay bmw with more expensive fixes because their for one more powerful and way better looking and more luxurious. If America would step their game up on looks and luxury I'd be more than willing to go American. Even tried a 2019 chevy Camaro ss and it just has nothing on my m6 gran coupe bimmer which now sits at 680 hp
