Old German cars looked great. The new ones are so much. All the Mercedes sedans look the same. Audis are bland and rather boring. I prefer the old X350 XJ but the current one looks like nothing else on the road.

For a fully loaded, top-of-the-line luxury sedan you shouldn't have seen him bouncing around that much at both the front and the rear seats. So much beauty and charm let down by the lack of a little more practicality.

u r rite bro ! but ppl dont understand that jaguars are know for their sports legacy! they have to maintain that throughout...n basically u get stiffer suspension compared to other cars thats are rivals for that but u r much likely to enjoy the car's abitlity to make u smile than give u a bit of luxuries!

I would tend to agree but the flagship Jaguar 'luxury saloon' should be luxurious. If you'd want sportiness, you'd get the XF, XK or F - Type. Certainly not the XJ.

C Byte 1. Local Assembly with lot of locally procured parts: Maruti-Suzuki/Hyundai/Mahindra/TATA. Compared to US counterparts, these are competitively priced and often exhibit poor plastic parts since the margins are very tight. These models could be exported as well and create jobs in Indian economy. 2. Local assembly with CKD: Honda / VW / Mercedes-Benz are some examples, who prefer exporting kits from Japan/Europe that can be assembled locally in India, leaving some scope for employment. CKD parts attract 30% duty, so the cost is 1.3x + excise adjustment + manufacturer assembly cost and margin. The final cost for such cars could be close to 2x of US counterparts. These cars have better quality parts or comparable to ones sold globally. 3. Local assembly / Procuring from countries with Free trade agreement with India - Thailand has FTA with India. Honda for instance imports cylinder blockheads and body panels from Thailand and gets the preferential duty pricing while importing from Thailand. 4. CBU - complete builtup import. The duty is 102%. Add the excise tax - The car value will be atleast 2-3x compared to US counterparts. Average salary In India: An average Indian salary is 1/3 or 1/4th compared to the salary for the same job in US. The parity we are talking about is therefore anywhere from 3x to 12x based on how much is the buying power and what is the dream car.

Just because it's owned by Tata doesn't mean it's Indian. It's still produced by British engineers. Nearly all luxury brand have been bought by Volkswagen, Toyota, Tata etc. Its not something unique to India

It takes a lot of wisdom to buy something which is failing/falling and make it prosper without changing from much of its originality. No matter who wants to accept it or not, it matters to us. We may have not started this, but to keep it alive with our own contribution is nothing small.

I love Jags, but this is just boring. I would rather spend my 1 crore on a S Class.

its a jaguar, its not a fancy car, jaguar always had his style and his customer, mostly old men, not young rich kid searching for a big bmw. this jag cost more, i will take the serie 7, but i respect very much this majestic car, its not for everybody, if you choose a car like this its just because you like jaguar as a brand of tradition
