    thank you so much! After much fretting and praying, I looked again for info about this actuator, and found yours - "What they don't tell you..." was so helpful! Manually set the wheel to defrost, with the switch in defrost, and the actuator lined up perfectly and works great! You're the best~ (well, you and God...) Thanks!!

    Super helpful video, thank you buddy! I was able to knock it out in 30 minutes. The screws were definitely the most time consuming while being mindful not to drop them. Appreciate you posting and making it so easy.

    Great How-to video. I would add that if you are a big guy like me, 6’2” 300, it is easier to just pull out the front seat to do this install. Once I did that, the job took less than 30 minutes. I spent 45 minutes trying to contort myself to fit with the seat in. Watch a video on seat removal since they have airbags in them.

    great video. thanks for the tips on setting the orientation of the gears. Hardest thing is access to the part. You are avoiding a 1K repair bill...so go and pop a few bucks for the right tools. Flex cord for power screwdriver is recommended - you be glad you have it. And he is right about not losing the screws. Use a magnetic bit if possible. .They are not a common part at the hardware or auto parts store. I lost one and ended up forcing a Philips head screw as replacement. Otherwise all went well. This fixed the vent selections. Tip: if you are lucky enough to have the adjustable brake and gas pedal settings, push them as low to the floor as possible to gain extra room for access.

    Just finished replacing actuator. If folks are having a hard time with proper vent control, like I was, there’s a reset sequence with pulling pulling fuse # 13. I found it on a f-150 forum. Unplug actuator. Start truck, let run for minute. Shut off truck. Take out #13 fuse(7.5amp). Start truck with fuse out for a minute. Truck off. Replace fuse and actuator plug. Good to go! ✌️

    Lucky me, had both actuators go out. Just did the blender door actuator which controls your temperature and is located in the bottom passenger side corner. It was a nightmare to get back in since I couldn't see anything. Had to set the blender door somewhere in the middle to finally get it to align. I recommend getting a mini rachet set before attempting. Got one on Amz for $15. Dealer wanted $600 to change out this actuator and $1000 for the blender door one! Will have saved myself over $1500 after I'm done.

    So you want to set your gears for a specific setting, then actuate the switch to match that setting, then install? Just making sure I am clear on that

  • @Meekerextreme

    @Meekerextreme

    5 ай бұрын

    No pick a setting on the dash, then you will need to turn the gears to match the actuator.

    Thanks for the video. Would it be easier to remove the panel under the steering wheel first? It appears to just pop off with a hinged bottom with two 10 screws.

    I don't understand the front part of your video. Did you manually crank the gear under the dash to a setting (just feet for instance), and then press the corresponding button on the dash with the actuator plugged in but not installed, and then install it?

  • @Meekerextreme

    @Meekerextreme

    Жыл бұрын

    Plug in the Actuator and press Feet, then spin the gears manually till the slot lines up and it will be on feet. Otherwise you trying to know where the correct setting is is hard, just get the Actuator set up so it's where it needs to be with the car, then install.

    Do you know how to perform climate control reset? I just changed recirculation actuator in 2016 f150. Without removing the dash.

  • @Meekerextreme

    @Meekerextreme

    I assume it's the same method. Hook up, make a selection and then install to match where the shaft position is.

  • @robsan7847

    Unfortunately it didn't work. I replaced with Murray brand actuator. I did connect harness first then changed from exterior to recirculate before installing actuator. It actually wouldn't fit correctly the way shaft was positioned from factory. After messing with recirculation button it then was able to be installed. There isn't a way to install actuator incorrectly. It would break the door shaft if attempted I imagine. I know it is correct. I noticed when AC is turned off the door changes to recirculation position and blocks outside air. When AC is turned back on it goes to outside air and doesn't change when AC is on. It's very difficult to find info about the AC theory of operation or factory repair manual online. I did try removing the fuse 12 to calibrate but didn't help. I ordered a Motorcraft actuator and will be here in a few days. Lucky me, I only installed 1 screw to hold in place. All help is welcome. Cheers!
