Just wanted to drop a comment here - my order arrived very fast - installation in my garage was a breeze - maybe 30 - 45 minutes, coverage all the right pieces and allows for good airflow - I did have to reach out to request additional security bolts as the unit comes with two security and four regular - wanted all six to be security head and you came through after just one reach out - that is the sign of a great company - nothing will stop a determined thief but this will encourage the bas guys to go after an easier target - and that just might be enough to save your cat - get it, you’ll rest easier
heads up, not sure if all gen 4's are the same, but I had a mechanic look at my car today for an install quote, and looks like on the 2019 prime, there are TWO cats, which the shield protects, but also a resonator farther back, which looks an awful lot like a cat to a thief.

Just installed this in a 2022 Prius XLE. Super easy. Took like 2 hours, but if I did it again it would be faster.

1st Gen 4 Cat Shield to be completely bolt-on. Glad you had no issues with the installation!

Hi,my wife and i,just bought our new '21 Prius Prime,and i was told i don't need a cat guard because of the new Priuses, cat location,apparantly part with the manifold ,.. Just want to make sure with you. Thanks in advance !!.

Hello and thank you for your comment. Your Prius has two converters, one in the front (part of the manifold) and a rear converter. Thieves will still target your Prius just for the rear converter. Unfortunately thieves cant always distinguish between Prius generations and will steal whatever they see. This version of our shield is drill-less and requires no extra parts to install. It also happens to be our most affordable shield on the market. You may want to consider purchasing one for the peace of mind. But we do sell thousands of this model.

The Gen 4 Cat Shield is compatible with the 2020 Prius Prime.
Thanks, but I think it's quate easy to remove those 4 star bolts, or what the trick

These are not your standard torx screws. These are patented tamper-proof screws that you cannot find anywhere. You may think it is easy to remove, but it is not. And it is definitely not easy if your goal is to steal a converter.
Mine just arrived today. Why isn't the logo cut out in the actual Gen 4 shield?

The logos are now stamped. This prevents thieves from using it to start cutting through the shield. Thanks!
OK I’m a little confused. What’s to say that a thief cannot get the same socket and just remove it?

Thanks for your question. The screw heads are a patented design that you cannot purchase anywhere like your local hardware store. The product is strictly controlled. It is extremely rare to have a shield removed in this manner. So rare that out of the over hundred thousands of shields out there, we have not heard of a shield being removed. While it is not impossible, it is very improbable.

Deterrence works. While no solution is perfect or future proof, that does not mean you shouldn't protect your vehicle. Should anti-virus companies stop looking for ways to deter hackers when there is always a new hack or a way around an anti-virus software. Our products work and have deterred thousands and thousands of thefts.
