2015 Subaru Outback - Review & Test Drive
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The 2015 Subaru Outback is on an all-new platform, with symmetrical all wheel drive and a lineartronic CVT. It features active torque vectoring, electric power steering, and a 2.5L boxer four with 175 hp. The all-new infotainment system includes a standard touch screen display and back-up camera. The touch screen, unlike many in the automotive world these days, is actually quite responsive.

I understand this in an old video (maybe 7 years ago), but I like when you review vehicles. I particularly like that you don't have super loud; incoherent music playing in the background👍

That is exactly why i love his reviews. He needs to do more car reviews. I like his methodical approach.
This guy is just awesome! He has 2 brains - one for talking and another for driving and doing stuff, impressive! And lovely to listen him coz he talks Casey Affleck's voice!
Great location for engine oil filter. First I ever see anything like this.
Thanks for the best Outback review I've seen.

Very welcome, happy to hear it!
you got one of the best car reviews out of all the reviewers, you speak clearly, hit all the points that is important, and have some technical info about it. Love it keep it up
Easily the very best review of the latest generation Subaru Outback on the net ! Thorough, balanced coverage of the pros and cons. Level of detail well above the typical, and I learned several new facets of this clever AWD sport utility. Well done on the great review work and kudos to Subaru for the results of their latest Outback refresh.
Excellent review! I appreciate the details you include, which are largely ignored in most other automotive reviews.
This is by far the best review of the Outback I've seen! Outstanding!
This is by far the most helpful Outback review I've seen posted on youtube, especially with the point-of-view camera angles which lets you feel as if you're in the driver seat during the majority of this video. Thank you for posting!!

Andrew Vondrus Very welcome, glad you found it helpful!
Thanks for some great reviews, I've watched several of your's and it's refreshing to listen to someone who clearly understands the level of engineering behind the products. Well done and keep up the good work.
This was the first "Engineering Explained" review I've seen... and I'm hooked! This review of the new Outback was the most informative and well explained. Keep up the great work and thank you!
very true about the throttle. It goes hard from a stop
Really great in-depth review. You actually explained thins, which the other reviews on here do not.
Awesome review. I love you videos. Your review of the 2015 WRX helped me make my decision. Thank you very much for that. You ALSO drive in one of my absolute favorite areas for driving. Much love to a fellow Oregonian.
No one else ever mentions serviceability in reviews. Thanks!
Love your reviews, guy. Thanks for not "reviewing" like most of the tools out there.
very professional and thorough review. I liked your level of honesty and fairness.
It was great seeing you today! It's a wild experience seeing you in person after watching your videos for years. :)

Corey Geving it’s 2020 and I’m thinking of getting an Outback. How is your outback holding up? Do you think it will last your 10+ years ? Any engine problems?
Thank you for dB information!!! Finally some information relevant for everyday Autobahn driver

what a great video!!!
Those roads look amazing, almost like the ones from the first need for speed for ps1 back in the day.
Looking forward to test drive the 2.0 DIT Outback later this month
I would like to see it running a bit off road and listen to your impressions in that regard, i think would be very interesting. Thank you!
An excellent review. Detailed explanation on all areas. Can you review the Outback 3.6R and the 2.0 Diesel?

New England Rail Videos it’s 2020. How is your Outback doing so far? Would you say you made a good purchase ?
Thank you!
Best things about wagons? The ability to chuck a single mattress in the back and crash in it overnight while on long trips. Miss my old 97 Camry.
Another amazing review in a row! I loved the off-road part of the Toyota Tundra review and I would LOVE to see you testing all the off-road/crossover vehicles off-road. It doesnt have to be 15 min off-road driving but a couple of bumps/hills/terrains... here and there so people can see, since a lot of people choose crossovers cause they plan on going off-road in certain situations. Keep up the good work!!

Aleksa Nikolic Yep, I agree the part was fun - the challenging part is it requires approval each time from the manufacturer. Because the TRD Pro was clearly built for off-road use, I took it off-road (and then asked for forgiveness, as I didn't know I needed to ask for permission). Ultimately, several things will make a vehicle capable in rougher terrain: 4WD/AWD and ground clearance (as well as tire selection) probably play the biggest role, which this has. Obviously other smaller things like differentials, suspension travel, etc., but this is certainly set-up to be capable for mild use off the beaten path.
Really like Outback, ideal car for my lifestyle
Great & thorough review! You have a new fan.. But on the highway, consider not Cruising in the passing lane. Pet peeve.. Blessings - JB
Hooray he didn't review the most expensive model.
Thinking about this one.
This is how a video should be done...🎉
Great review, but I can't stop thinking about the April's fool day video :-)
Thanks
I love my 2011 Outback limited loaded mostly because it doesn’t have all those nanny controls
The best car review I have ever seen....:/
like your shows.
Gr8 review I'm seriously considering an Outback right now! Have an infiniti m35x but mpg and ground clearance can't touch OB

Good job..
Have the '15 Outback Limited with EyeSight, love the car, just wish they offered it in manual in the US. One thing about the infotainment/AC panel that has bugged me is the placement of the clock, feels very much like an afterthought.
My dad has this exact same car and really likes it.

Loved this review!! I'm looking at 2016 and 2015 limited. Which one would you choose sir?
Interesting to see that I never see Outback reviews that show that you can store the cargo cover under the floor, on top of the jack
Wish you would have tested the flat 6, but still a great review
Great car but hate the CVT. Manual gearbox is okay since it is direct drive.
If you can find it (it's pretty rare) I suggest you review a Kia Rio5 SX fully loaded. It's a god car
Excellent review, as always loaded with the technical stuff nobody else seems to care about. I had a 2014 Forester - bought in 2013 - and traded it in for a 2015 VW Tiguan, I loved the Forester but the infotainment was awful - it was the older one, which looks like an old Pioneer radio - and suspension was too rough for me having a small child back then. I've always wanted an Outback, but I really didn't like the old model, now this one looks way nicer and rugged. Haven't had a test drive yet. My main concern by now is that the VW has a very solid, sturdy feel to it, and really superb fit & finish, also well loaded with gadgets and small details aimed to make life easier; for instance it has a fatigue detection system, lumbar support not only travels front and back, but also up and down so you can hit right on the spot, all 4 windows have anti trapping system and one touch up/down in every door, and even though the audio system is not the biggest one - it's not the Fender system -, it has a very nice 8 speaker system that sounds extremely well. Seats in the VW are excellent too. And it has the most brilliant engine I've ever had in a car, punchy as hell. Its weakest points are visibility - compared to Subaru at least -, premium fuel consumption - 2.0 TSI + 4Motion - and space, for 2nd row seats and cargo, considering I'm about 6'2" I usually take most of the space of the poor soul that will sit behind me. I'd love to know what's your opinion on this trade. Thank you.

I wonder if by now you changed the VW to the Outback? VW are great overall but their engines and gearboxes unreliable. They all drink oil
@vischo
Жыл бұрын
@@abdallaamg297 I had the VW for 4 years without any problems. I traded it for an Outback, kept it for a couple of years, no problems, but 2.5 with no turbo and a CVT is not a good mix. Traded the Outback for a V6 Sorento and that was a nice change. The Sorento quickly developed interior noises and the leather sport seats were a bit too hard for my taste, you feel it on long trips; traded it in for a new Edge, that one offers a very good mix of power, tech and comfort.
great for mulch
Great review. I have an A4 avant 2018, except for The noise level and 190hk tdi i always Wonder what could have been. Next one is tesla, outback or a6
As many have said the best detailed review. Will you be doing one on the Subaru Forester? Thanks for all the information. Sales people should view these as many do not know much about their cars. 2012 Outback
He live in the Pacific Northwest I new those roads look familiar I don't live far from where he was driving.
I actually very much prefer the navigation system in my 2017 outback as compared to apple maps!
"Well that's probably enough work for today" hahaha
Excellent Reviews & very heloful. Please review & rate the Toyota Rav 4. Great Subby reviews.
I find the mpg on the display to be at least 1 mpg higher than it actually is. I think the body roll is a good safety feature to discourage me from doing anything stupid.. One feature of the parking brake most people don't notice: If you apply the parking brake with your seat belt on, and it is in gear, it can be used as a hold, and will release when the accelerator is pressed.

Ty !! About to buy one.
Great video but I feel you didn't talk about brake response, throttle stiffness, and pushing the car much. Other than that its good.
hi, is it possible that in the future you use the old fashion way to calculate the mpg? cause I don't really trust the dash, like my ct200h, everytime it overstates 2mpg. Thanks.
