Thanks this worked on my 2008 Chevy Express, this gives you full control, it's so nice not to to have all your lights on every time you drive in the daytime!

When I popped the switch open that metal bar came out and I spent an hour trying to figure out where it went. Looked online, found nothing… until I saw your vid! Haha! It even showed you placing it back. Thanks for your video.

Amazing video! About to install LEDs and was worries of them burning out quickly. Took me about 15 minutes tops and worked like a charm!

That's good info, my old truck never had daylights, and I think it's annoying having them. Also I like the look of the marker lights on at all times and not the headlights!

Thanks. This is perfect for remote starting my Tahoe when its dark. I don't need the headlights on shining in house window when everyone is still sleeping.

Great video. Mine is a bit different and the spring is out but there was a additional piece of metal that makes for the notches and I can't for the life of me figure how it goes back hahaha

yes, but you have to turn the switch to parking lights first then back to auto-on if you want to use that feature. for some reason you can't turn it straight to auto, the lights won't come on.

What if wanna keep the drl on at all time for the 16-17s and somehow override the auto feature so u can turn them on whenever u want to

Thanks man seems like a good solution or anybody wanting to run HIDs for the low beams would like to run HIDs in my truck but this would help because then could run HIDs in my low beams otherwise if the DRL's it's not at full voltage during the day and it'll burn out your driver box for your HIDs I've read somewhere.

One year late but yes, my HID harness just burnt itself to the ground and I’m almost wondering if this has anything to do with it. Also heard it’s bad for HID’s to be switched on/off like that without fully warming up/cooling down

Your hid’s should not be using factory power. Factory power should only be used to operate a relay, your ballasts should be getting power directly from the battery and factory harness sends power to relay which turns on the hid’s

I did an led conversion on my 2019 since then my low beam headlights turn on during day so this will help from constantly having to turn them off every time

That kills the battery in cold temperatures when your going to start the truck good hack

So does this let you drive without Drl’s all the time when it’s in the off position.

What abt when you take off the emerg brake and put it in gear ? Do drl’ stay off ?

I have a ‘17 Sierra 2500HD. When I turn my light knob to the off position and just hold it there, my lights do not turn off. How does taking the spring out make a difference?

Wish GM would have just given us a fuse! lol Will be doing this on my 2014 Silverado. Sick and tired of wearing out bulbs!!!

I have a 2016 that came stock with that I just turn it to the power logo and it turns them off

Does this work for a 2003 light switch?

that's great as the stupid thing turns on the parking lights when you go to accessory mode in the night.

ehh i dont think its that much of a bother to me to crack open my switch but pretty neat none the less

Did this on my 2014 and didn't work... Drl goes off only when I put it in park and comes on while in drive.. even with the spring removed..

Have you found a way to have your fog lights turn on with your headlights? Especially in the "auto" function, having to press the button every time to turn the fogs on is annoying.

P Star it annoys me too. Before my sierra I had a 2012 ram, and when I pushed the fog lights button it would bring the fog lights on every time my headlights came on until I pushed the button again. I loved that feature!

They are driving lights not headlights on low light roods construction zones etc they are a good safety feature I like them on you don’t have to remember to turn them on how many people do you see driving with there dash lights on and headlights off ? People driving on two lane roads passing passing makes them easier to see when you sell your truck do you change it back to stock ?

Will this work for a 2018 Sierra ? I noticed only Canadian trucks have the DRL issue where it won’t let you turn you’re lights off when you don’t need it. Fucking stupid Canadian laws

We go to a drive thru Christmas light display every Christmas and my DRL would not stay off when I put in drive. So this will eliminate that problem

It is a problem if you install HID's and you don't want them running at full bright in the daylight. HID's don't have a DRL position, so when they are on, they are burning full power and with the short life of HID's, you don't want them running in the daylight.

Why would you want to take spring off? I guess if you are doing something suspicious and you dont want people to see you at night

This is illegal in most places.. could cause your insurance company to drop you/deny your claim, and is literally pointless..
