Thank you for watching! It is not capable with aftermarket systems. Only with the factory system.

When you did the remote start was the engine warm?

You need to Get the RP5-GM31 From Pac for your stereo. It retains all the chimes..

Polly M. Not that i know of. It’s only compatible with the factory system as far as i know. You can contact Boost Auto Parts to get a forsure answer on that.

cool upgrade, I'm to cheap to spend 45 bucks on a key fob. thats half the cost of a new alarm system which comes with new fobs.

No it will not work. The aftermarket remote started uses a whole different module that’s not pairable with these.

I just ordered mine, I love that retro fitting key fobs is an option now. Did you order the fob with the programming tool from them or did you opt to take it to a dealer when you purchased & did it yourself? Obviously I watched you do it lol, but you didn’t need the programmer from boost auto right?

Mando what?? I haven’t seen one. I found a remote at the junkyard 😂 it messed up my truck so I disconnected the battery for a couple of minutes and it went back to normal. Opted out of using the remote 😆

But why? They are bigger and still only need 3 buttons.

2010 should not need programming that is exactly what mine is. It might be a late late 2010 and that could be why and that would possibly need a dealer programming

I got mine today and programed it for my 1999 chevy silverado, I've been playing with it like a kid. I keep setting off the alarm, when I bought the truck it didn't have the key fob

I really never liked Chevy's key fobs, and I want to see if I can pull apart a newer Dodge key fob and reprogram it to a 2004 Chevy Silverado. If even possible, it would be a challenge, but I'm up for it when I can afford it.

Mine is a butt. I have to hit the lock or unlock button 3 or 4 times before it will work and yes I change the battery.

Interesting, mine works great. When my battery was going low it did the same, but after I put a new battery in it was like brand new.

11-14 requires a professional scan tool and or the dealer would have to run that for you.

Year models 2011+ requires it to be flashed to works. They do not that the option on dash

It will work but you will have to have a dealer or someone with that machine flash it, maybe a lock smith can do it but I’m not 100% sure

Mine had basically same problem with glow plugs changed all of them and it went away. The engine light has to be off for the factory remote start to work.

@@manuelochoa2019 it’s usually on most cars now. My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a CEL for some gas evaporation leaks and it will auto start and then shut off on its own after a few seconds.

Maaaaaan! 2012 and up you have to pay extra to get it programmed! 😑 i was quoted 70$-150$ to program this key fob. So this will end up being 110$-190$ key fob..... sucks.

2011+ has to be programmed with a tool. Only 07-10 you can program your self unfortunately

Yeah I figured that out the hard way . It doesn’t say that when it’s gives you the option to buy the 2011 fob . It went back and read it . It does say that but it’s way down one the site . Had to look hard for it . It should’ve been more clear about that . Now I go to find someone who can do it for me cheaper than the dealer . Sucks .
