2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Cowl Panel Replacement
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK2) was experiencing a weird buzzing noise at highway speed. The fix was pretty easy to do, but unfortunately, expensive.

Thank you so much for this amazing video!! I literally just completed the repair and prior to getting my repair started, I bought all of the tools that you recommended and they were all needed including the wiper removal clamp. I feel empowered and proud of my work and honestly could not have done without your amazing guidance!! Thanks again for your help my friend!! 😊👍🙏
To get the wiper arm off. You need to push down where the two pieces come together while lifting on the arm nearest the blade. It'll pop right off.
Joe your the man . For that money I would turn the radio up and tell anyone that asks it’s my hybrid electric motor noise. 👍🏻😁

ROTFL :) Love it!
And this is why I love the internet. Same noise was driving me bananas…did a search and found this (and other) vids on the matter. Super glad there is a fix but big bummer on this flawed design (to include the deteriorating exterior sides of the windshield). Thanks for the video! - 2015 JGC Owner
Thank you-this noise was driving me nuts! I was going to go the electrical tape route because I’m cheap but the strip along the windshield is cracked in multiple places from a prior windshield replacement and the replacement appears straight forward.
Thanks for posting this information. I was trying to figure out how I was going to troubleshoot a noise that only happened at speed. Not like I have a wind tunnel at my disposal. Thanks again.
Joe, Great job. I had the exact same problem with my 2015 Grand Cherokee. I simply applied about 18 inches of black electrical tape over the part of the rubber that was buzzing. This was intended to be a temp fix but it's been good for over two years. Thanks for all your help with this.

I applied black electrical tape over the flapping part of the rubber that was buzzing. It's been a fix that has worked for over two years so far. @@fatih1198
Many Thanks! Good job done!
thank you, i guess you gotta spray the cowl panel with silicone lube from time to time to avoid damage or perhaps some other UV protection to avoid replacement. I was lucky as my side cowl panel moldings are damaged but not the front. i originally had chaulked them up but its way past the time i get some new ones to replace em.
I am going through this project myself with my 2017 JGC. I live in New Mexico and the sun has been brutal. Heat wave has been eating up the the rubber moldings. I wondered if I could just replace the worn, gummy rubber end covers and save the center cowl with a plastic conditioner or cleaner? Just to maintain its integrity and give it its black color back. Maybe I should order it all like you did. May look a bit miss matched. Thanks of you video. If only Mopar OEM would create these videos and show use exactly what number parts to order and prices... Which I afraid to ask what you paid.
Great diy video. Noticed one thing, on the new cowl when you placed everything down I saw that there was a dip on the rubber strip on the driver's side. Have you had any issues with that not being as flushed as the rest of the strip?
You don't need a puller.... just press down slightly where the wiper arm hinges and it will relieve just enough tension on the wiper motor arm to pop the wiper arm off.

One arm came off just fine without the puller, the other one was kinda stuck on there.

Lift the wipers up on the hinge and the wiper disengages and comes off.
Has anyone experienced any kind of water leaks behind the dash because of the old worn out windshield cowl?? I can hear water slushing around. Also have the buzzing issue at highway speeds.
A bead of clear silicone where the rubber meets the glass solved the noise problem for me.
Thanks for the great video. We have a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee and actually had this cowl replaced at the dealer several years ago but it's cracking again (go figure) I can't believe the price for shipping, I found an OEM part for $287 but they wanted $204 to ship, that's crazy. I could get a round trip via plane and pick up for less than that with the discount fares lately. Did you find a cheaper shipping somewhere or just bit the bullet ? Thanks

If i recall, i found it cheapest at RockAuto including shipping. It still felt like a lot of shipping, but it wasn't $200. Can't remember exactly, sorry it was a while ago
That this part have to be expensive? I see different under 100$ options online now

could you please share me the link?
Video looks good, Sir. Are you open to doing any product review that related to Auto led lighting? We are looking for opportunities to showcase our products, can we arrange to have our product shipped for a product review?

Sure open to discussing. What is the best way to get in touch?
Could you not just replace the rubber gasket part?

I don't believe it is sold separately. Seems to be part of the panel
$355 for a piece of plastic. That's insane.
