An oil temperature/pressure gauge is definitely a great thing to have in a performance oriented car for three reasons. 1) if you actually drive it aggressively for an extended period of time; like if you track it or drag it. 2) if you’ve done significant modifications to the drivetrain and added power and is no longer just a OEM reliable performance oriented car. 3) you drive a slammed build all cambered out and with lowered suspension(bagged or static:especially static lol) DEFINITELY would wanna know if your oil temp spikes or oil pressure dips so you know if you cracked or ripped off your oil pan when you just bottomed out on that nasty pothole. So if you bought a sports car and kept it stock the way you purchased it from the dealership and was shipped from the factory and only daily drove the car and didn’t race it or track it, then there is really no need to go out of your way to install a physical aftermarket oil temperature/pressure gauge. Depending on whether or not the car is modded from stock and if it’s driven hard or not an oil gauge can be very useful and highly recommended or nearly unnecessary and there just to look cool lol

A buddy of mine put a mesh grille on his, totally changed the appearance! The weird Mustache it has reminds me of the early BRZ's mustache. Very dated and odd styling choice (also not functional, since it blocks airflow). Performance and price was always a great bargain on these little lads. Aftermarket is slowly growing for them as well, as they become cheaper and more accessable for car guys. Great starter car, and really just a great car in general! (for the price)

Yup. It's like when a giant software suite written by 200 developers hits every target on paper, but they don't use it and don't care. They made their target. Milestones hits, goals achieved, everyone gets bonuses, but no one bothers to listen to the people who tell you it's just not cohesive. Just not good. I bought a 2010 Genesis Coupe in Grand Touring trim in 2010. I was going through a divorce and could no longer afford the Infiniti G37 convertible that was going to be my next car. I loved that Genesis coupe. Five years later, I traded it in on a G37 convertible and regretted it within a year. It's far from being the objectively best car I've ever owned, but it may be my favorite. I do not think that they were trying to make it a luxury car. I don't think they knew quite what they were doing with the Genesis nameplate yet when they put out a luxury sedan and a sports coupe with the same name. Though not quite real luxury, the sedan's interior was way, way, way better quality and materials than the coupe's.

I was a tech at Hyundai when these were brand new and whenever these coupes would come through, I’d be hoping that it would be an auto. It never failed whenever I brought it into my bay that I would stall out and the whole shop would get a laugh, but in my defense everyone there always had a hard time using the clutch on these coupes.

Hyundai's traction control is intrusive on all their cars. My gf's Accent's traction control is unreal. Unusable in snow or slippery conditions. On another note, I've always had a soft spot for these. Generally considered them everything the FRS/BRZ wanted to be but no one bought them because Hyundai.

I got my Genesis coupe r spec a couple months, exactly like the one in this video and it’s been a dream. Turning off the stability and traction really shows the true power this car holds and it’s just a perfect car to have fun in, MPG for me personally hasn’t been too bad, I mean if you’re getting a sports car MPG is the last of your worries. I’ve had so many people compliment my car thinking it’s some brand new 2023 car so the design is definitely the strong point and it’s reliability is pretty decent if you’re not abusing it every single time you drive it. If you’re interested in getting a Genesis coupe, I say go for it, they’re cheap and fun as hell, you really can’t wrong with this car

Infiniti/Nissan RWD-based vehicles are actually VERY good cars. G37, Q40, Q50, Q60, QX80, Armada, Titan, Frontier, 370Z and GT-R are long-lasting, durable vehicles. A G37 Coupe does have much better resale than a Genesis Coupe, but is still cheaper than a Lexus RC350. 3.7 based cars also have the luxury of a plethora of power-adders that no other Asian coupe (aside from FR-S, but they are weak) has available to them. Now, if you want to say "All Nissan FWD-based CVT vehicles are utter garbage" I'd agree with you 100% ! Nissan makes some SHIT cars!

It came with a box to reflash the ecu to a 20lb boost tune any time and revert to stock for emissions test. Also came with a spare water pump, spare brake pads, a performance clutch to handle the extra power from the tune, and a boost gauge I can install. It was a huge step up from my 94 Celica. Brembo brakes, 19" wheels, sticky pilot ss tires, lower performance suspension, 6 speed manual, and a limited slip diff. Is it the most perfect sports car ever? No of course not. But for the price I got it for I couldn't be more happy. 20lb of boost and bolt ons really wake up the first gen 2.0t

Thanks for doing that one. I've been kinda curious about these since I found out they'd been out there. (I think there's a thing where when people make a rear drive coupe with a standard etc, they've had a tendency to not make much noise about it... The same thing kinda happened with the Holden GTO Pontiac was selling, here's me being like, 'Eh, new cars suck now, why think about em,' and that thing was around there all along looking like they stuck GTO badges on like a bigger Honda Accord or something. Hyundai in particular, they'd been making those Tiburons that looked for *all the world* like they were supposed to be old school rear drive ... and they weren't. (I kind of liked the looks of them, though. I kind of assumed the new coupes were ...basically the same thing.) I mean, when someone makes a car to please people that might be disillusioned with newer cars, they should yell about it a bit more, I guess. :)

I love this car. And all the things you mentioned are true like the fake hood scoops and the stupid gauges are a big pet peeve of mine as well. But regarding the traction control, there are three settings! Pressing the traction control once and not holding it will turn traction control off. This is something I do automatically when I start my car every time. When you press and hold it and hear the beep you are now turning off traction control and stability control. This is something I do not recommend driving around in city or public areas. But when turning off traction control only, there is no leg or interference at all when you step on it. I also purchased a sprint booster which eliminated 100% the throttle lag.

God fuck no. They are the cancer of the JDM scene here. Not fast, not that amazing without striping the interior weight off, and during the mid 10s they were everywhere. They were the classic 'I want to be into cars but want a sensible option too' wank for people who didn't want a Polo and couldn't afford a Civic or Golf.

I turn off traction control on every single car that has it, even a retal economy car. They just flat out stop the car when taking a quick turn while accelerating hard. It's crazy bad.

For us older drivers, you get the ultimate/GT model which gives you the lumbar support you were complaining about. So glad mine has it, I need it. Also, R-spec and ultimate get track tuned suspension over the base models.
