Sounds Great! I'm from Springfield and my dad (I'm 66 years old) worked for Indian. Polaris has built an Indian with the soul and spirit of the original. Beautiful!

Watching this in 2022 thinking, “why why why did they discontinue the Chief Vintage and Chieftain Classic?” Those are what made the brand stand out, imo.

That's just what I've been asking. Downsizing the frame & calling it a superchief doesn't cut it for me. I bought a used 2014 Vintage. There are still some out there but very few because most don't want to get rid of a good thing once they found it. .

Only my opinion but I think these are the most beautiful new bikes on the road. Comfort is also very important. Generally you don't ride for 10 minutes and go back home, if you love bikes then you'll be on one for hours at a time and the more comfortable the ride, the better you'll feel at the end of it all and that matters too.

The night before I pick up my new Chieftian.... Cant sleep. I am in LOVE and I can't wait to take possession of my new 2014. 8 months of personal research, blogs, you tube and you name it, I researched this decision day and night, took endless visits to see how the other bikes size up. I am convinced I brought the right bike for. 16 hours to go..........i will do a you tube video as soon as I can after 1000 miles. Cant wait, at 54 I feel like a kid on christmas night looking out the window for Santa!

I bought a Indian Roadmaster Dec 2017. Traded my Ultra Classic and some cash. This bike is the best handling big bike I've ever rode. I always loved the style since the first I ever saw back in the early 70s. The bike is awesome over all. For a touring bike, performance is tremendous.

I could listen to him expound on a variety of car and bike subjects for HOURS at a time. LOVE his show and his collection- and what he's done to promote bikes and preserve history deserves a TON of credit!! Just LOVE this GUY!! And this Indian video. Love the new engine, too- but STILL like my '03 Gilroy Spirit Roadmaster Deluxe......BETTER!!!

I've been riding a '99 1100cc Virago for about 12 years now. It is bulletproof with huge torque and handles beautifully on Avon Cobras. Dragging the pegs is no problem. Nor is floating the gears. If I ever decide to upgrade there's only one place left to go...Indian. PS- It took everything I had to not take a shot at H-Ds in the above.

I used to dislike these old-fashioned streamlined heavy clunky looking bikes but after seeing a few really nice examples of Jay's and at shows, it sorta makes you reconsider your long-held opinions sometimes. Love the look of some of the new Indian bikes, especially the badass matte finish Scouts.

I think American manufacturers - blue and white collared - have always taken pride in their work, especially in the automobile and motorcycle industries. Else why would they have built cars with fins and motorcycles with steel-disc wheels? It was American capitalists and stockholders who sold them out, turned the Steel Belt into the Rust Belt.

I'm a hardcore Kawi guy and longtime cruiser hater (especially harley)... BUT i recently had the opportunity to hop on and ride a Indian Chieftain Classic and i was in love with it. The bike is gorgeous and man does it pull... I'm still an ADV rider but if i were ever going to delve into the cruiser world the Indian would be the only choice in my book... I was especially impressed with the quiet idle and smooth idle of the engine and just now quiet the whole machine was at WOT from a stand still and WOT on the road... you get on the Indian and it just oozes quality and craftsmanship...

My wife and I have rode 300,000 miles in the last 23 years on various machines, but the Indian is by far the nicest machine we ever rode. What Jay needs to do is take his wife a ride. I currently own a Harley, but I don't know if it will start without my wife on back.

I'm adding a performace air filter & remap next week at my local Indian dealer. If your not ready to trade, then do not test ride a new Indian, because it will cost you up to $23,000.

The first bike I restored was a 1947 Chief. Before I discovered it, the bike sat covered by a canvas under a crabapple tree for over five years. That was in 1969. Just took delivery on my 2014 Chieftain just over a week ago. I've put 800 miles on it during the week. I've had Victory, H-D, rice-burners, but the Chieftain is without a doubt the best bike I've ever ridden. I'm positive that my Victory XR that I traded in would beat the Indian in a drag race, but the low-end torque of the Indian motor is unbelievable! IF YOU'RE NOT READY TO TRADE FOR A NEW BIKE, THEN DO NOT TEST-RIDE AN INDIAN!!!!!!

Mr. Leno. I lived in Burbank for over 30 years, and use to see you at the Aero-Books before they moved. I consider myself a motorcyclist first, and a human being second. I once had an entire fleet of 12 classic motorcycles, and they all were registered and rode often...(Let's see, think I'll take the '71 CL350 to work today.) I've lived in Los Angeles all my life, grew up in Silverlake. I've been on two wheels before I could walk, bicycles, mini-bikes, motorcycles. My last bike was a 2005 Buell City-Cross that I ever fire roaded above the Tujunga wash. The Valley, Burbank, LA are all very dangerous places for a motorcyclist. Especially when you put lots of time in the saddle, the risk goes up. Your luck runs out. Please be careful out there, stay in Angeles Crest on the week days or someplace similar. After 39 years of riding., also a intermediate open class desert racer (87 CR500R ported) I was rear ended by a suburban, and killed. Triage at UCLA brought me back. The accident broke both me and the Buell in half. I'm now confined to a chair.

It takes year around positive cash flow to pull off any investment. Winter snow machines. Summer water craft ....and motorcycles. Aircraft? The challenge is the endlessly fickle society, coupled with financial uncertainties playing to agenda driven politics.. Does the future bode well, when the video games cater to the present demands of the young and immature? When the EPA movers and shakers [save the earth] mismanagement discourages Any wasteful, viewed as frivolous, recreation? Nicely done ,Jay. I took six test rides during the Sturgis Rally and I ended up riding the Classic three times because I liked it the best. They're solid, handle well, and the engine pulls like a tank! I, like you, have been riding since the '60s and I've owned four H-Ds (still have a RoadGlide) and I ride a Moto Guzzi California most of the time, now. I think the RoadGlide will be traded in this year and I'm torn between the Indian Classic, Moto Guzzi Cali1400, and the Triumph Thunderbird (which I have yet to ride). Keep up the good work on the reviews. You make them entertaining and they're a good reference point for those of us who can't ride all the bikes that you can.

Love Indians and Jay's Garage. Jay gives some great insight in every review/show. Just hope he does one on the new Scout, just picked one up, and would love to hear his commentary on them. The 2015 models to me resemble the old classics much more, and just have a cleaner sleeker look to them. Very glad Polaris has resurrected them.

I love this bike. Makes me want to get back into motorcycling again. A new classic in the making. Also, I wonder if it would be possible to make a flathead engine now that is efficient? The valvetrain would certainly be less complicated. I love the sound of flatheads, especially the Ford V8 and old Harleys.

A few weeks back, I test rode a few Indians at a demo event and came away impressed. I don't care for the cruiser posture in general, so my complaints about the bike center around that and aren't directed to the quality of the bike. I could put in some miles on the open road on one of the Chieftains or Roadmasters.

Nice bagger. His comment about the mirrors, my 06 Harley Ultra's mirrors shake pretty bad when I'm at a stop idling. When moving I don't notice it, the suspension absorbs the vibration. At a stop though it can be difficult to see details behind me. I'd added a back rest to my bike, love it, makes a huge difference. I'd also had to add a heat shield to protect my thighs from the engine heat when at a stop. I like how Jay never talks down to his audience, he recognizes many of the viewers are technical and can appreciate and understand what they are seeing.
