    Your video was helpful and entertaining. You are funny under stress. I did not have to take the strut out completely. I bought a set of compressors on Amazon and I cut two six inch pipe (3/4 electrical conduit pipe) around the threads under the bottom spring compressor grip, so I could compress the springs on the car. I Only had to remove the wheel, the fender apron (6 torx and a lot of plastic plugs), the sensor to control arm 10mm, the sway bar link to strut, the rear strut pinch bolt and brake line mount, the control arm to yoke nut and bolt and the CV axle 32MM. I put my 2 ton cradle jack under the shock (yoke bottom) and as I unloosened the top two shock nuts the assembly descended. I scooted the jack sideways an inch at a time and the assembly moved down far enough replace the mount without having to unhook the shock wires or remove the brakes. I found I could use my big flat screwdriver 14" to wedge under the wheel of the jack and scoot it sideways toward the car and the assemble rose into place so I could replace the top 2 nuts. I just didn't want to undo the mag shock wiring. Make sure the isolator under the spring doesn't have hole worn in it.

    I am doing the struts on mine right now and using your video for help. The bushings on mine look the exact same. I have think they are designed like that.

    What was the solution for the bushings off of the lower control arm? Can the bushings be replaced or does the assembly that hooks to the shock have to be replaced?

    you can get the strut yoke bushings and control arm bushings from most gm dealerships, the parts are based on and specific to your vin number so will want to have that on hand before calling.

    I was wondering when you took the old strut out did you compress the springs on the car ? How is the strut held on , on top , with that one bolt ?

  • @BrandonBurns1985

    @BrandonBurns1985

    Yes I needed to rent a strut spring compressor from autozone. That single nut on top when installed is not the same nut thar holds the spring on. That nut you see under the cap with the hood up is what keeps the strut into the upper strut mount.

    The noise comes from the yoke bushing at the bottom and sometimes the struts.. It's the big Bone looking part he took off.. Most cars have it were you can buy the bushings separately.. They made this Vehicle were you have to buy the WHOLE YOKE PIECE that has the bushing it and it's on PIECE NOT SOLD SEPARATELY😩. Its NOT in the Lower control arm itself but the other 2 is (meaning the 2 other bushings in the lower control arm that you can purchase

    Yea the top nut in the engine bay on the strut just locates the strut. Then the nut after that holds the spring on to the strut you will need a strut spring compressor that. As there is a tremendous amount of dangerous spring energy stored.
