Yeah I used to think they were hunks of junk until I drove the SL550 and then I talked to a bunch of guys in the club at the car show and I was surprised how good their feedback was. I guess it's kind of like the Chevy Cobalt compared to a C6 Corvette there's no comparison when it comes to build quality and how the drivetrain will hold up if you take care of it. The C6 Corvettes are almost indestructible especially the manual. I was trying to get a 2013 60th anniversary six-speed manual base model C6 Corvette I was going to put a GM hot cam full long tube headers and a cold air intake which would put it at about 447 rear wheel horsepower that car would go about 205 mph. But I couldn't find the right car The price is went up too much and all the manuals are off the market because the new Corvette only comes in automatic so everybody started buying the manuals and I said if I'm going to have to go through this I'll just get a SL550 for almost the same price.

😁😄😃, now after the tires it's even quieter. Got the Toyota proxy sport tires 255/40 R18 in the front and 285/35R18 in the rear so now there's more sidewall much smoother ride a lot more road feel and much quieter with super super soft compound It's a rubber silica mixture so it's even softer It's a 240 treadwear so they'll last about 20,000 mi

I understand that steven is a professional. Doing atf fluid EXCHANGE can definitely mess up you’re tranny. But if you drop the pan clean out the sentiments on the bottom of it along with changing the filter. You’re transmission will be ok for a flush through the transmission cooler lines.

I'm excited to go back and get it drain and filled again in about 5,000 mi.

That neck air vent would definitely come in handy in my car right now, muggy as hell out almost can cut it with a butter knife how humid it is, I tell you what if you see me marrying my car it’s because I’m in love with AC so much

Loving the video on the gorgeous vehicle 👍. My diffs and transfer box oil requires 80w90 and the manual gearbox needs MTF 94 oil. The Amsoil 80w90 SG easy pack is difficult to get in the UK, no supplier has it, will need to import it. 75w90 is available but will the lower 5w points make a difference on the 30yr old differentials?

It depends on the vehicle and the way it's driven on a car like this every 30,000 mi would be a good range. Under severe service like here in Las Vegas and driving hard every 20,000 mi would be ideal.

Did he re use the filter as well as the pan gasket?

Yes however I will be back in about 5,000 mi to change the filter and change half the fluid again. Then it'll be about 75% changed to the AMSOIL. It's going to be awesome to see how it shifts after I do the filter change and change the fluid again 💯

@@Syntheticoilprotection Sure is. On your transmission there is an inspection cover by the torque converter, if you remove the rubber cover it will give you access to your torque converter. You can rotate the flywheel with a flat blade until you get to your torque converter drain bolt. It is a tiny 6mm allen bolt with a little copper gasket. You can empty the 4 plus quarts of transmission fluid when doing your next change to get most of your fluid out. Be sure to replace that tiny drainplug if you decide to do this . It has a dab of dried red loc tite on it and a new copper washer. Did this to two of my Mercedes with great results. German engineers think if everything.

Oh yeah there's different gaskets that are good to reuse and there's other ones that aren't it just depends on the vehicle

Oh yeah Steven is a stitch 😁😄 He's really an entertaining type of guy! He works on his dirt bike 350 banshee overboard four-wheeler two-stroke and he has a turbo Volkswagen bug and he's always working on his cars He's a real enthusiast and he does the transmissions in his sleep That's all he does 10 hours a day.
