I love everything about this year’s pathfinder. Its fast, dexterous, spacious, comfortable and overall just a joy to own. The interior holds up and the tech is just enough that allows it to be just enough in today’s day and age

This suits my kind of questions. Thanks for replies on the GMC Nathan. So here it's clearly a clutch that engages the rear driveshaft, and the engineer did't said that, so he was just a sales man. That AWD switch is taking the power away from the driver. When he selected 4x4 lock the switch actually remains in auto position, so the lock thing will go away at certain speed or after start, or after a few minutes.

this car is made for people as they really are, not for people as they like to imagine themselves. it has all the off-road capability 95% of its buyers will ever need. if you live in Siberia or Alaska, perhaps this car is not for you.

you guys should do a trans mission battle in bad conditions. For example CVT vs Auto vs Manual to see which is the best in different conditions.

We bought the new 2013 Nissan Pathfinder in January/13. By now, the SUV broke down 4 times: transmission hose fell off (the car had to be towed), overdrive did not work from the beginning, front lights burnt out, trunk door rubbed paint off the car due to bad alignment. All of these are manufacturing defects. We highly recommend this vehicle if you like to drive dirty service cars or unsuccessfully deal with Nissan Customer Service.

I love body on frame SUV's like the 4Runner and the like, but times have changed. I need more space (because a body on frame usually has less interior height because of the structure) and lighter vehicle which means fuel savings (because of smaller engines). To those who say "soccer mom's SUV or Mallfinder" is hilarious. Remember, these vehicles are catered to those who can actually save up to buy a NEW car. Lol.

so its pretty much awd but can also be a 4x4 kinda thats awesome!!! I wanna see this vs. Subaru's awd

Really hope in 2014 they give it maybe another 1 inch atleast to compete against other competitors. This is basically a minivan.

This was on my buy list, but the ground clearance was just too low, almost as low as my 2001 rav4. If only they raise it by 1inch or more it'll seem like an awesome pathfinder again.

How does the Nissan 4wd get power to the rear wheels? Is it a drive shaft, or electric motor?

Likely it's due to demand, a sudden change perhaps. Those who want more ground clearance will have to opt for a full-size SUV, or a pickup truck nowadays.

I'd be very curious to know what dealer you bought your Pathfinder from, in what state, what city, and what the VIN # of yours is. Because your Pathfinder experience seems very unique; I'd really like to see the documentation path, between you and the dealer. I bought a SL 4WD in February, have 3K miles on it, and everything is PERFECT. Hose didn't fall off, overdrive works perfectly, lights are bright and shiny, no paint rubbing anywhere. I am a very happy customer of Nissan's.

I see this as a poor man's Infiniti JX35 (which the Nissan Mallf-- Pathfinder shares). This one as demonstrated has a more advanced all-wheel drive system. I think you can rough up somewhat more than the Infiniti (by the way, fully loaded it reaches near $60k); Fully loaded, Nissan will price it at around $43-46k. Correct me if I'm incorrect or I'll have to look at Nissan's site.

Phew, I no longer hate the Pathfinder since the Xterra and Armada are staying. However, I do miss the old Pathfinder. The new one has no soul... it is nice to ride in though.

why this years the SUV's height to the ground are so low than the old SUV's

Oh well at least this vehicle still has a lock mode. Most of the newer systems are becoming automatic and you cant even control it which sucks.

They should have left the old Pathfinder and called this one the Altima Sportback.

Station Utility Wagon? It's nice to have a vehicle with AWD, but I would guess this has a little more off road capability then a Ford Mustang.

I have always loved the Pathfinder, but I don't know how I feel about this redesign. I mean honestly, I'd rather have better MPG and on road manners and still be able to take it off the beaten path, but I like the body on frame trucks. And this design isn't wearing well with me.

Why is it that more and more people when answering a question begin the answer with the word, "so"? It's actually quite annoying in my opinion. ..... I have always liked the Pathfinder though. Very nice SUV but if I was going off road it would be a Jeep Wrangler or a Nissan Xterra (Subaru Forester n a smaller scale as well).

I totally hate what Nissan did with the pathfinder. I guess they're gonna make the x-terra become the new pathfinder, and make the pathfinder become a traverse and explorer rival

Oh! BTW, I watched the entire video, and all the "Off Road Test" (I think someone is trying to change the Off Road meaning), can be done in a FWD-Only Tucson, And I know it, because I have done it in a worst rocky road, worst than that dirty/dusty place shown on the video. So that "MallFinder" is not doing anything impressive. Actually, that 4x4i system they are using, has been in use since years ago on Non-US Market models like the Nissan XTrail and Qashqai, both simple crossovers. Google it!

I was driving earlier tonight in Fort Collins and i saw the 13' pathfinder and I commented to my girlfriend that that was the most god awful update ever, aesthetically only. Its truly a mom-mobile now with its rounded tail lights and head lights. The older pathfinders really where a great masculine looking SUV wile the new one has really undergone a gender change. Its a shame the looks have changed for the worse because it appears its more capable than ever. keep the tech, fix the exterior.

Lame and repetitive explanation of the AWD System without any new information being added. Felt like he was talking to babies who do not have a clue what AWD system means and how it works. The hill didn't seem as steep either to warrant the need for a 4x4 lock. Anyways good video overall but just get to the point and demonstrate it as clearly and quickly as possible once. It's not your fault Roman and Nathan. You guys did great.

Nissan has really lost their touch. The pathfinder has now become a totally different vehicle. I understand change is needed sometimes, but a CVT should not be in this vehicle. Bad enough theyve stuck it in the Maxima. I hope thy realised that the CVT doesn't work for everything.

Major downgrade, in my opinion they shouldn't call it a pathfinder. It isn't a truck anymore, it is an awd (fwd) minivan... hate it!

Once again, this is the pussyfication of a great Off Roader! Please, change that name, no more Pathfinder. One thing is a car like the Santa Fe or the Rav4, both models that have always been CROSSOVERS SUVs with optional AWD, and another thing is what Nissan and Ford did with their SUVs (Pathfinder and Explorer, respectively). They change their SUVs from gender and brag about a Terrain Management System that is a total failure!! At least we still have Land Cruisers and Wranglers Unlimited!
