2013 Mazda 3 Cabin Air Filter Replacement

2013 Mazda 3 Cabin Air Filter Replacement: The filter on this 2.0 Mazda 3 is kind of hidden, so this video will help you locate, remove and replace it. As you will see in the video, there is the potential for A LOT of leaves and debris, so be prepared to vacuum the filter housing and if possible, blow compressed air into the housing while vacuuming to agitate and remove as much debris as possible.

This video helped saved my sanity. I kept getting the filter backwards but because I was damn near upside down and in an uncomfortable position I kept getting frustrated. It’s amazing how you think you’re doing everything right and something tiny slips your notice. The cabin air filter should not have been this much of a pain in the ass to handle. lol Now I see why some mechanics charge like $70 or more to change them.

Thank you for providing a good view of how they go in. All the other videos I found skip over that.

This video was a lot of help, thank you very much! I do have one caution though, my resistor was working fine until I decided to push it out of the way, rather than disconnect it before vacuuming out the vent. My only guess is either the resistor is super sensitive to bumping it, or somehow something shorted out while pushing it aside to vacuum it out. Hopefully someone could shed light as to why I had to replace the resistor though, it was $70!

This. Who has fucking tentacle arms for this feat??? I am at my wits end with this. I’m not a large guy at all - so I thought you know - should be easy getting in there right??? NOPE!!

Thanks for the video! I replaced the cabin air filter in our CX-5 which took 3 minutes. Dealer wanted to charge me $165 CAD to swap out the one in my Mazda 3 (I literally laughed out loud). This will take ten minutes. Cheers!
