2013 Lexus GS 350....250k Miles Later

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

2013 Lexus GS 350 review with 250k miles on it. This is one of the highest mileage vehicles I have ever driven but this Lexus GS 350 doesn't even exhibit high mileage behaviors. I did review a 2015 Lexus IS 350 if you are interested: • Lexus IS 350 RWD....20...
I have also driven the Lexus GS 450h as well as the 2016 GS 350 F sport. I absolutely loved the GS 450h hybrid, it had that V8 thrust but got great gas mileage. Surprisingly, I wasn't a fan of the 2016 GS 350 F Sport; however, as you can see from my review of this non F Sport GS 350, I loved this thing.

    Thank you for the review. I am a owner of a 2013 Lexus GS 350 AWD, white with black interior. I am very pleased to see that this car has held up, even at 240,000 miles. I absolutely love my car. I used to own a Cadillac STS V8 before this and there is no comparison. This car is sharper, precise, and accelerates effortlessly compared to the Cadillac I used to own that was a tank and generated a lot of heat from the engine compartment. The interior of the Lexus GS is a very nice place to be. When you arrive at your destination, you find yourself not really wanting to step outside of the car. 😀 One thing I will mention though, my GS DOES have double pane glass on all four car door windows. I confirmed before writing this. In any way, I have no regrets. I holla.

    Beautiful ride my friend yea such an amazing car for sure and very nice driving dynamics. I noticed the glass was pretty thick, like on the LC it doesn't have that indent in the glass but I noticed it was very thick so I'm assuming it was the same for the GS. Thanks again for stopping by

  • @elusivellama
    @elusivellama3 жыл бұрын

    Your comment about the 2GR V6 engine is spot on - it's smooth, and delivers power consistently and effortlessly. It isn't a turbo 6, so there isn't that rush of torque at low rpm, but keeping this engine revved up is part of the fun. It sounds amazing when it's pushed, you're treated to wave after wave of naturally aspirated V6 snarls as the transmission shifts. It absolutely has more than enough power for street driving. It's not some bespoke engine that was hand assembled by one person. It's a mass produced Toyota V6 that exists across the entire Toyota/Lexus lineup. It was designed for hundreds of thousands of miles of service life, it is overbuilt and understressed and literally requires no maintenance other than oil changes. The evidence is right there in front of you, the car is 250k miles (400000 km!) and still runs like a dream.

    I appreciate videos like these because the majority of online (& offline) reviewers fail to really address the longevity of a vehicle in terms of reliability and quality. I honestly feel that a car like the one reviewed here is hardcore testimonial of the reliability/quality of the Lexus brand than a brand new 2023 Mercedes Benz AMG. Please keep reviewing high mileage cars as the average time that American consumers hold onto vehicles (i.e. for new vehicles - 6 years; for used vehicles - 4 years) is significant for the majority of buyers including people like me who could afford any car I like. But, value is everything to me. One's car breaking down in the middle of the highway can be life threatening and the car manufacturer that allows me to go unscathed and come home each night has my loyalty as a current and future buyer, Ravi Peiris M.D.

    Yea man another subscriber explained to me perfectly why I didn't like the 2016 model because they not only put an 8 speed in the later models, they also lowered the torque or something apparently so it felt like a dog. So actually the 2013-2015 cars are superior and Im glad you got one my friend enjoy it!

    @@narutolol3199 real good, man. I’m at about 97k miles right now and have had no mechanical issues after routine maintenance. The only real defect I had to deal with on the car was when an A/C valve or something related got clogged, and it leaked some water into the passenger footwell. That was a couple hundred bucks to get fixed, but it was pretty minor overall. Other than that it’s been a hassle free experience

    Lexus/toyota never disappoint when it comes to reliability. I cant remember ever seeing a review of a 250k bmw or merc. My 318i at 44k miles was falling apart; suspension components, body and numerous engine issues. Lexus is the best made cars, period. This engine has been in IS/GS since 2007. I love the GS. Excellent review sir. That’s the most mileage I’ve seen for a modern GS 350, good to know it’s holding up strong! I got a 2015 GS 350 CPO 44K miles in March and it’s amazing! You are right the 8speed does react slower than a 6speed would, but to combat that you can shift to Sport Mode :]

    i actually use to own a 2013 Lexus GS350 F sport. Loved it cool to see that these cars can stack miles. I put on roughly 45,000 miles on it in the two years i owned it bought it with around 35-40k miles. Never had a single issue with it. Great daily driver! Ive seen your video on the 2016 F sport and if im going to be honest its a bit slower than pre refresh models due to being much lighter. I recommend that car to anyone that wants this car. I actually miss mine a lot been trying to find it in hopes to buy it back but that's a long shot. only thing I would change is probably change the open diff out for an LSD. would make the car from driving perspective almost perfect!

    Kevin, you're unique style is informative and convincing! My 1997 Camry V6 has 411,000 miles and runs great! I can validate your positive comments on the Lexus and Toyota V6. It's a great engine! Mine is the predecessor to the 350L. Your reviews are making me want to purchase a V6 Lexus RX350 when my Camry finally wears out. I'm thinking I'll get 500,000 miles - same transmission, same engine, same AC. I'm considering hybrids like the 4 Cylinder Venza, but the durability of the Lexus/Toyota V6 engine is like a siren calling. Even with 411,000, my Camry is not a "rattle-box tin can." Nice 2013-2015 is the best years for the GS. They ruined the 2016 and up to satisfy "emissions" which is why I didn't like the 2016 F sport so its good you got a 2014

    I own a 2016 GS 350 F-Sport. You are right about the transmission being sluggish. I think it’s the 8 speed because I drove a v6 Camry with 6 speed and it was much more responsive. My only complaint about the car is overall comfort. I don’t know if it’s the F-Sport seats or the suspension is too stiff for me. I find it strange since my previous car was a 2011 Mustang GT with lowered springs and 20” wheels and I had zero issues with it! And the door panels are already rattling at 20k miles.

    Great review! I picked up a 2006 GS 430 as a runaround car and I love it! Just took it on a road trip and hit 90k miles on the way home. I think it looks better than this updated model.

    Solid review man. Me personally I love my 2011 GS350 awd. I'm about to hit 100k miles within the next couple of weeks. Got it with 89k on it. When I say I absolutely positively love my GS350 I am in no way being biased because I own one but it truly is an amazing ride. Everyone loves it. Black on black with cherry red wood panels. Its everything i want in a luxury car

    I have this same exact model with 72k miles on it.. And you couldn’t pay me to buy an ES.. Although, the ES is a great car, I just can’t process why they would choose to discontinue the GS and keep the ES alive.. When I think of a Lexus, the 1st model that comes to mind is the GS350 🤔💭...

    I believe the latest ES generation is closing the gap which GS has left after being discontinued. ES got roomier and more powerful, we only need a V8 version to truly close that gap.

    I bought a 2013 GS350 F Sport new, Starfire over Cabernet red interior. My only complaints were the noisy motor at idle and had brake noise issues twice but Lexus replaced them under warranty. Thank goodness because the F Sport brakes cost a fortune. Otherwise, the car handled well and had a nice interior. I traded it with about 35k miles.

    I have the same car you're previewing here in the Nebula Gray Pearl color. Mine has 'only' 93,000 miles so nowhere near where this one is mileage-wise, but it is hands-down the best car I've owned with its balance of performance, build quality and ride quality. The 3.5 L V6 is awesome in the way it rides in town and on the highway and easily matches German rear-drive sedans. Immediately responsive to throttle and steering input, especially in Sports + mode (an option that comes with the luxury package, I believe). Glad to see how well this one has aged. Looking forward to another 200k miles!

    Nice review man. I was surprised you said the GS 350 has LS levels of quiet. When I drove the F sport trim with 25k miles it was barely quieter than my 23k 2014 Scion TC with a exhaust on the same highway at the same speed. Decibel measurements don't lie! That kinda swayed me away from pursuing the car & led me to where I am now. Waiting for the 2021 IS 350 F Sport with DHP.

  • @MeynMotorGroup

    @MeynMotorGroup

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yea definitely a great car. My only problem with decibel measurements is there are so many variables that effect it like how windy that day of testing is and what kind of tires you have on the car. Granted the day I tested the car it was not super windy and some wind did come through but that was also the case with the LS, Toyota lexus just has wind issue but not ridiculous

    @@MeynMotorGroup Tires make all the difference for sure. Kinda worried the IS will be noisy running all season performance tires and having no options to go all season touring due to the wheel size. They bumped the rear's up to 265/35/19 tire on the 2021 and put 140 tread wear tires with no alignment on the last cars 2014-2020. Just Crazy, you lucky to get 10k out of tires.
