2013 KTM 85SX dragging clutch - switch to ATF!
No matter what we did, we couldn't get the dragging clutch on this bike dialed in. It was impossible to start in gear (at least for a properly sized kid). New master piston, new slave, new discs, new springs, system bled, lever adjusted, pushrod and ball bearing inspected, etc. Nothing helped! After some research, we decided to swap from 15W-40 to ATF. Bingo. Drag is just about perfect! In this video, the bike is cold. Now...to test!

Hey this is awesome thanks for sharing. I am having a hell of a time figuring out my sons clutch on his 13 ktm 85. I am definitely going to use ATF in it when I do it

Best part of a 2stroke, if you don't like it...just drain and swap.

17 ktm 85sx, I can only start it in neutral position, can I get the same results if I change Mt engine oil to atf? Tnx

We have a 2021, 28 days old & it does it so bad, I'm taking it to the shop for warranty work....

@@78raarons update : I changed the oil and went enduro riding for 5 hours then change it again. Seems to work well now, no more clutch dragging. I guess my bad cause I haven't changed the oil until 25hrs of very light use.

@@78raarons check the condition of the engine oil, it might need an oil change.

BleakSUV-RC I have changed it once... At about 2hrs ..... Might have 5 on it now...
What ATF did you use?
