Hey Eric Sangimino thanks for that advice. How are these jeeps on the highway? I know they aren't for that technically but where I live the local government does not pave the streets. The pot holes literally have a 3 foot indent in the middle of the roadways on most local roads that I need to travel. Im to the point where I feel like I'm off roading so why not get a jeep? lol

The new one's have a really comfortable ride. Being from NYC I feel your pain (literally) when it comes to horrible roads. On the highway the drive just fine apart from having the aerodynamics of a brick. In stock form they rarely get death wobble or bump steer but if you ever were to experience it it's as simple as making sure your tires are properly weighted and aligned. In case you don't know what death wobble is, because of having solid axles and not independent suspension the wheels can sometimes start wobbling side to side on their own. It's just like getting speed wobble on a skateboard or a bicycle except a lot easier to recover from. In most cases you just slow down a bit and it sorts it self out or it'll sort itself out without even having to decelerate. Don't let that scare you away though as it is almost non existent in stock Jeeps.

Eric Sangimino Thats good to hear. I sorta feel like I would rather buy one than lease it. I usually lease my cars cuz I don't use them a lot and I always want something new, but I feel like the jeep could stick around forever, so why not end up owning it. How are these bad boys long term? If I was going to buy one than I would likely go with a 2011 just to save some money.

Older models with the 4.0 motor have lasted upwards of 250-300k miles. The new Pentastar motor is fantastic but hasn't been around long enough to know it's true limits. As far as the rest of the vehicle goes, if you take care of it it'll last you forever. If you can keep it in a garage and away from snow/rain you can easily prevent rust under the truck. Even then there are rust preventative products that can be applied underneath if rust were to ever become an issue, but that'd be many years down the road.

Kevin Collins comes off quite easy, took me and my husband all of 10mins. Use a driver with the socket it much faster. The top is awkward the first time you remove it, not heavy. You can also put the front freedom tops back on with the 3/4 hard top off. There is a little tab on each side of the freedom top, pull them down before you put hem back on. No need for a bikini top,sun shade.

I can't stand the fact that the wrangler is now just a family truck and no one has the slightest idea what they are capable of. Even the lifted ones I doubt see even the slightest dirt. Sad.

It is so sad that you could hate a person for loving a type of vehicle ... especially a Jeep ): Poor thing. I am having a child here soon... a little adventure buddy and- I am not sacrificing my Jeep life because I can't have two doors anymore. I'm starting this little one out right. My jkur will fit my mommy needs as well as any off road needs I have just fine. You shouldn't be such a grouch that you "hate" a person for wanting to raise their family right without sacrificing their lifestyle. It isn't good for you my fellow Jeep lover.

Courtney Wright well then the wrangler will become a grand cherokee and not for off road if familys buy them by the masses because they want all the air conditioning navigation heated seats witch make it heaver so bigger engine more power more gas no more basic rubicons for off road.

Hard top is a leaky piece of crap, you shouldn't have to worry about water leaking into your dash. Just stick to the soft top
