If the pronunciation of a name is that annoying to you, I’d say it’s a reflection on YOU and not anyone else.

I love it that there talking about how hard it is to remain consistent over aa long period of time and how old Vanessa Ferrari is. The sport has changed, and the athletes are staying competitive for longer .

Isn’t it though? Jade Barbosa, Vanessa, Ellie Black, Simone, Flavia Saraiva, Rebecca Andrade, Melanie DJS, Beckie Downie, Sanne Wevers etc are still going, looking as good as they have ever in their careers 8-12 years later!

It's wild to hear Bart point out that in 2013, the US had won 8 of the last 10 individual AA golds on offer with eight different gymnasts. And now a decade on, the US has once again won 8 of the last 10 individual AA golds on offer, but 6 of those 8 were all won by Simone.

Watching this in March 2020, & loving it, bc I can’t get enough gymnastics content. Can’t wait for Tokyo!⚡️🤸‍♀️⚡️🇺🇸 ... Edit: well... now, waiting until 2021 for the Olympics.

I’m watching this in 2024. This was just the beginning of Simone Biles! Love watching her everytime all these years.

“Marta makes me more nervous than the judges.” Isn’t it amazing what not only Simone can do but also what US gymnastics can do after uprooting the toxicity at the core? 2023 watching this after witnessing Simone’s amazing trajectory is incredible.

Damn, I can't watch this with Monster Marta...I just can't.

Catalina Ponor, Oksana Chusovitna, Alicia Sacramone, Sandra Izbasa, Sui Lu, Deng Lin Lin, Vanessa Ferrari, Ksenia Afanaseyva, Gulia Steingruber, He Kexin, Beth Tweddle. All but one were Olympians last year, 7 were medalists with 2 being Olympic Champions. In Worlds 7 were medalists with 6 being World Champion. Only 2 did not relieve a medal at all last quad, but one of those 2 got one this year with the other making 3 EF. NONE of them are teenagers with one of them being 38 and still making EF.

Wow from the last past decade USA has managed to claim 7 gold medals in the AA 3 Olympic and World. 13 Biles, 12 Douglas, 11 Wieber. 09 Sloan. 08 Liukin, 07 Johnson, 05, Memmel 04 Patterson. and claimed 01 & 02 spots 03 times! 13 Biles & Ross, 09 Sloan & Ross, 08 Liukin & Johnson & 05 Memmel & Liukin. Another fact not stated they still made the podium in 03 (2nd/Patterson), 06 (2nd/Bieger) & 10 (3rd/Bross). So team USA has been on podium ever since Patterson won her gold! Go USA!

Fast forward to 2020 and now Simone has something like 25 World medals alone! 😱🤯😍 not to even mention the Rio Olympics and all the National titles...she’s just ridiculous 😳🧐🤩 lol I’ve been watching all these old competitions to get me through the boredom of quarantine and it’s just so incredible to watch how she’s evolved over the years! I can’t wait for Tokyo! 🙌🏻

I like Kyla and think she is a beautiful gymnast BUT it was NEVER a question of which medals Simone & Kyla were going to take. Kyla did a beautiful or great job BUT she was NEVER going to beat Simone. Simone has way too high of start values on vault and floor which are her best events Ross (5.8 & 5.7), Biles (6.3 & 6.5) and she didn’t give much of a difference in start value on bars and beam Ross (8.7 & 8.6) to Biles (8.6 & 8.433).

it would be possible if simone fell off the beam, and it has happened few times to her. But without major mistakes, surely no chance for kyla.

American commentators who are former gymnasts themselves saying about abuse in the Spanish gym squad. How terribly ironic that the US not long after had the biggest abuse scandal in gymnastics or sport of any kind the world has ever known. Also Carlotta Felito outing herself as clearly a jealous racist. Horrible. Saying that she and her team mate Ferrari should paint themselves brown and they would get better scores. And then saying that black athletes are built differently thus cementing her racist comment. And dragging Ferrari down with her. Who didn't actually say anything.

How much deduction do you think they can take for "lack of artistry" when that's only one portion of the execution score?🤔 I think you may be confusing "artistry" with style. There are no requirements in the code of points for style. Is there?

They have to score her using the same parameters as all the other contestants. When I want to see the weight of judging on artistry I watch ballroom dancing.

​​​​@vlhhill659 Other sports judged on artistry are ice skating and synchronized swimming. There are male ice skaters and they are judged on artistry just like the women. It's true male gymnasts aren't judged on artistry, but it isn't the same sport. They do rings, pommel horse, and parallel bars, which women don't do. Artistry is very much part of women's artistic gymnastics. It used to almost exclusively about artistry and "poise" in the early days of this sport.
