For Russia she is their best ever in my opinion. Khorkina won a bunch of world and Olympic medals but was often a terrible sport, acting childish and saying things that were totally uncalled for when it didn’t go her way. Aliya has always been very supportive of all those around her, very respectful while still remaining a fierce competitor. She’s a great sport and represented her country and her sport so much better.

How sweet of Aliya to support Anna like that. Do her D score, and comfort her after her routine. Our queen

@@saragrant9749 I'm pretty sure she kept on competing for Russia for like another year, cause I remember her in the Cottbus World Cup. But I'm pretty sure she faired the fate of maybe other Gymnasts, with some kind of Injury and an early retirement. Sad.

The big trend with Russia is that they have a few gymnasts with great longevity who are stalwarts for the team (e.g., Mustafina, Melnikova), but the rest are a revolving door of young girls that can never seem to last long. Maybe would have changed w/ the 2021 team, but now we don't get to see them

Aliya always consoles her colleagues, I remember at the Olympics in London 2012 that she supported komova and in rio 2016, she consoled Seda. she is beautiful.

I just watched Simone's speech for Congress about Nassar just before watching This. I literally groaned out loud hearing his name.

Unfortunately not the first Italian gymnast from that era with a bit of an uppity attitude. The group they have today are a joy to watch though, and Vanessa seems to have mellowed over the years.

Kyla is amazing to watch! has really nice lines and is clean and simple :DD she deserved that medal! :) Mustafina did really well too! ... just wish Komova were here also competing :( hope she gets better! And if Iordache hadn't fallen .. I DEFINITELY think she would've gotten bronze instead of Biles .. I just think Larisa has better form than Simone especially on beam but congrats to everyone!

I don't like the comments about Aliya and how difficult she is. If you watch her compete she is always serious (which is perfectly normal I would think) and focused. What I like about her is that she is always supportive of her teammates. You don't always see that with other top level gymnasts...look at Ferrari and her "sportsmanship"

I am so tired of the insults to these gymnasts ("he-she Biles")? If your watching thede videos, you should have an appreciation for the sport. And if you know "anything" about the sport you know that it takes all types. If you stood next to Biles you would realize how TINY she is... she doesnt even fit into a size 0 clothing! !! Leotards are unforgiving and show every single muscle. Yes, some are very thin and ballet types (Nastia for instance...who her own father had to admit was a "fragile" gymnast and her routines reflcted it. Ever see a double double out of her)? The IGF has come up with the new COP and all gymnaats must have the strength and dance elements. Its always am OPINION with gymnastics and this code should hopefully make it more level playing field as far as judging.... Difficulty, execution of the difficulty and # of dance elements on floor and beam. STOP FIGHTING OVER COUNTRY! !!!! TBEY ARE ALL AMAZING AND THERE'S no secret scandal. ....

totally agreed! and so what if they look bulkier? IT'S ALL MUSCLE. they worked for every single one and should be proud of them. i mean damn, can you imagine the effort and hours put in the gym? most of them could probably strangle someone with their thighs.

Maybe if Carlotta spent less time sitting on the couch and being racist, and more time actually training and improving, she would be an actually successful gymnast ☺️☺️☺️

Could never disagree with that. I felt she should have been barred from Rio after her racist remark in 2015.

Kyla’s dismount was definitively a .3 deduction. It was a hip length hop with two feet.

And Aliya's d score is higher than 6.1. So her d score wasnt maxed out at 6.0.

Whereas, Kyla's potential D score is 6.1, she received a 5.9 for Prelims/ AA and a 6.0 during EF. Simone's D max D score is 6.1 as well... If you're a coach and you think that the D score was incorrectly tabulated, you can submit an inquiry. There's nothing illegal or inappropriate about it. Finally, the Head of the BB panel during EF is an Italian judge, there were no American or Russian judge. The decision to accept the inquiries lie with FIG officials headed by Nellie Kim (Russia).

Nellie Kim is NOT a former Russian gymnasts. She's a former Soviet gymnast from what is now Tajikistan and Kazakstan and she now lives in USA.

Funny, Rodionova's name had an "Enquiry Submitte" when she hasn't even started. People at the score screen were like "they're all inquiring anyway." lol

I REALLLLLYYYYY try to avoid gossiping about these amazing women.... But there seems/seemed to have consistently been some real cattiness from the Italian ladies. Carlotta and her inappropriate remarks, and Ferrari acting a bit rude to Musty. Maybe she just had something on her mind. Maybe she was in pain- I'm hoping maybe she was just distracted or tired or whatev.

If it's what I think she was talking about, it's when Carlotta made the comment about Simone that "maybe they'd win I they painted their skin black too" or something because Simone is always on top and she was most likely salty. Ferrari was attacked behind it too but she pleaded that she didn't say anything along those lines and that it was just her teammate(who was most likely Carlotta). Her and Simone are friends so there were no issues between. Don't know about her and Carlotta though

The Russian coach seems nice. His gymnasts look comfortable with him.

Aliya and Simone are so beautiful when she does the beam. ❤❤❤

Aly tied with Aliya in 2012 AA, but Aly lost to due due to the tie braker. Cata tied with Aly in 2012 BB final but Cata lost to Aly. Same case with Aliya and Ferrari

They went overboard with the "Enquiry Submitted" captions just a bit when they displayed one for Rodionova but even before that the time judge messed up with Iordache's routine too...beam final went from good to horrible!

she had a lot of mistakes. simone had 4 obvious ones but was solid every where else not to mention simone has way better height on all her leaps and dismount was way cleaner

Kyla´s inquiry was as just as Aliya´s inquiry, the big diference is that Aliya was immaculate and judges decided to keep her score low..

why? ferlito's E score was higher than biles but has lower start value. she got what she deserved which is out of the medals for an easier routine, which she still had balance checks and horrible twisting form on her dismount

Lots of people know that rule. Especially after it was constantly stated in Beijing.

I can see several small connection and extension mistakes, I guess those really added up.

Let me remind you that the head of the FIG women's program is Nellie Kim... a former Russian gymnast, the technical committee can overrule the D score panel when there is an error tabulating the D score of gymnasts... Aliya submitted an inquiry regarding her score,,, she thought she deserved a higher D score, but the fact of the matter is, all throughout this world championships, her BB D score ranged from 5.8 (AA) to 6.0 (Prelims/ EF). Her difficulty is maxed out...

Did hear or read that Chunsong coaches left her there at the event because her coaches was soo upset about beam event they just left her there and some people in the audience was helping her to sit in audience.That sooo wrong to leave a minor ther by herself. Read it at wogymnastike.That fuck up.

I don't get it, it's a paradox: at the Olympics and Europeans, romanian girls are doing a great job but at worlds, they often face failure. I guess it's their luck.

Do you have any proof of that besides your own bias?

I saw seven balance checks (each .1 off), helicopter legs on the dismount + a hop (probably .3), she didn't hit a 180 split on most of her leaps, leg separation on her flight series... she didn't make any big mistakes, but when there's a little mistake on almost every movement it really adds up.

No she shouldn't. She had less mistakes and a bit better execution but a lower d score so she was scored fairly. Even if she hit, I don't think she would have medaled regardless and that nasty racist attitude that she had afterwards doesn't make things better smh

Rodionova has a similarity to Vika ..just a little rounded .vika has a very slim face.

Don't complain about Kyla's inquiry. It was right that the judges accepted her inquiry. Her performance was clean and well executed, except for the dismount, so she should get every d score and connection value. Kyla deserves her medal so stop complaining as if BOTH of the Americans' inquiry are bias. However, I can't say the same for Simone.

They treated her like complete trash after London. It’s a shame as she had so much untapped potential that could have been brought out in the quad leading up to Rio.

what a horrible fina, the 2 italians had incredible easy routines for a rorlds final, and the only gymnasts who had routines to win medal at worlds had mistakes, Chang and Iordache anyway Chang deserved silver and Ross bronze, 4th I Bile, 5th Iordache 6th Rodionova, 7 Ferlito and 8th Ferrari

I don't think their inquiries should have been acceptes either but saying you understand why she said something racist isn't cool. Simone didn't get bronze because of her skin color which is what carlotta implied so if you agree with her, you're just as sad. If anything, simone would have won due to bias not skin color but she had a higher d score and i don't think carlotta would have medaled anyway considering she also had form errors, especially on the dismount. Losing to someone whether they deserved their win or not is NO excuse to be racist EVER. Aliya's inquiry wasn't accepted but you don't see her having bad sportsmanship and even if she didn't get the bronze, simone is a great sportsman too so she doesn't deserve hate either
