2012 chevy volt oem hold mode hack

Enabled Built-in hold mode on my12, you need to reprogram three modules with my13 software. It's not perfect but it works to show proof of concept. First mode I entered is hold mode keeping the 3 miles, second mode I entered is mountain which made it 0 miles to build SOC. Drive mode selection menu doesn't show on my cluster which is programmed with my13 software I haven't sorted that out yet. I showed the mfg tag/vin at the end of vid to show that it's a my12 build.

Pop the button cover off the mode button. Under it is the switch itself. A rubber cap on top of the switch gets compressed over time and won't let the mode button press onto the rubber cap. A couple of layers of electrical tape cut to fit the bottom corner of the mode button cover will shim it enough to engage again. There are good videos on this here.

You just need calibration files from the 2013 but since it's not made to do this you will always have a check engine light on due to the controllers not seeing the communication of the other which it is communicating.

@@brianbri6 nice! I will apply that for a friend. Mine is 2013. I have the hold mode. On my car I have some trouble with "check high tension system" with check engine. It need to reset with obd for charging works. Same think everyday I think is my 5 years old 12v battery.
