AMAZING!!!! Just AMAZING!!!

Great movie i wish Universal studios Florida make this attraction ride that would be kinda cool.

I believe its a mix of Thinking Particles and volumebreaker and a custom Houdini bullet SOP. ( source: I'm an FX guy )

Get a lot of references and design sketches and concepts before all the work (comics and movies are great for get some perspective ideas) 2. Modeling and texturing all the layers of 3D (smartly for the animation and simulation) 3. Animating and simulating, this part take several layers of particle simulation for water, foam, smoke, debris... 3. Lighting and check all the shaders and animation ...

they did a great job with SFX but the movie was . . . meh. SFX: 10/10 PLOT: 5/10 MOVIE AS A WHOLE: 7.5/10

No it was Houdini bullet SOP and Thinking particles depending on which studio. "Cebas: What Cebas software did you use in the production of 2012 and why? Sam: Thinking Particles 4, Volume Breaker, and Final Render SE." ^---- from an interview from Cebas website. Uncharted Territory did alot of pickup FX using Thinking Particles. Call me "the closed' all you want.

Honestly, The movie itself was a total abortion. But secretly I loved all the special effects and shit (just sorta unrealistic)

What makes me sad is that these people went through all this trouble to make these shots so damn realistic looking, for a movie that was pretty stupid. Now don't get me wrong, I did pay to go see it in theaters and I did not regret it, because the money was worth all the disaster sequences on a big screen with surround sound! I even have it on blueray just so i can watch it on my plasma screen!
