That clip was PERFECT!!! It fits perfectly with some of the shenanigans they did in the movie, "Slapshot".

This was probably the best part of the whole damn show. (They even put on the foil!)

Too funny! The Hansons strike again!

I got to cross meeting the Hanson Brothers off of my bucket list, back in 2015 or so at a bar in Erie, Pennsylvania after they made an appearance at the Otters game that night. Even though they were totally wasted and had a huge group of people around them, they still took the time to talk to me and sign my jersey. I politely thanked them for signing my jersey and taking the time to talk to me, and also thanked them for their contributions to hockey culture, we shook hands, they went back to getting shit-faced, and I went home. Lol.

I still replay Slap Shot, when I first saw the Hanson brothers I laughed so hard it made my eyes tear. I being a Minnesota North Star fan.

It was awesome when the Carlson brothers were playing for Hartford. What a cool thing.

Slapshot would have to go down as the greatest film about sports of all time. A retrospective Academy Award for best picture of 1977 should be granted. Who the hell remembers 'Rocky' anyway?

As crazy as the Hanson Brothers were, they could not hold a candle to the real life "Broad Street Bullies". The Soviet team (considered the best in the world at the time) came to play exhibitions against various American professional teams and the Philadelphia Flyers pummeled them with such brutal play, the Soviet team walked off the ice.

"Ah...we found it." "Yeah, found it." "Yeah we did. All three of us found that." Right. It was lying in a ditch, a little bit south of Saskatoon.

Slap Shot is one of my all-time favorite flicks.

Was at a snowmobile race, Budweiser was sponsoring and then bam, Hanson brothers, wtf, I was half cut. The buddies girl friend I was with asked who they were. I said what’s they’re the Hanson Bros. They were doing a photo shoot, and she finally figured out who they were. My uncle jim coached them. I said ya right, so we went up to them, and she told them, and holy shit, her uncle jim coached them years ago, we laughed and had a few beers together.

Got to love the Hanson brothers!

They were all signed professionals, but only one played any games in the NHL. Most of their careers were in "the minors".

I recommend reading Dave Hanson's book "Slap Shot Original, the Man, the Foil, the Legend" It tells of his life story and his part in the movie. A really great read!

I got to touch the Stanley Cup when it came to town. The rink that Chad Ruhwedel skated at as a kid in San Diego hosted his presentation when the Penguins won.

Only two of the three are brothers in real life - the was a third brother who was cast, but couldn’t do the movie due to his commitment to the Edmonton Oilers. Ironically, the one that isn’t the brother (the blonde), his last name is actually Hanson - the other two are Carlson. I know the real fans know this, but for the people that didn’t - just a little trivia.

Alex Hyman they all live in woodstock Ontario, they are always doing guest appearances, I partied with them last year at the Bob Probert memorial ride here in Windsor Ontario Canada last year

We found it, in the Rideau Canal in Ottawa 🇨🇦 That actually happened in 1905, it was recovered the next day.

I negotiated a half season ticket with Eddie Shore back when he owned the Springfield Indians during the the 75-76 season. He seemed like a decent guy just trying hard to make a buck as he controlled every aspect of the team. Funny seeing that old guy roaming behind that business counter in the basement of the Springfield Ma. If I remember correctly........the price for the half season was something like $85 or so. Blue line box seats. Premo

The skit got that part a little wrong. It is not bad luck to touch the Cup if you haven't won it. It is strictly forbidden for non Cup winners to raise it above their heads like a champion. Pritchard and the NHL would not have allowed that, even for a skit. It's that big a deal.

Rules apply to hockey players only. If you haven't won the Cup, and you're trying to get there, go ahead, touch it. Numerous guys have lifted it up at their friends parties. It's considered bad luck to touch the Cup if you haven't won it, and you think you are on your way, or you are in the NHL.

The replica Cup travels. People raise it above their heads but it is not cool. The superstition about not touching the trophy before they've won the Cup regards the Conference Championship trophies. The mentality is that there's still four more wins to go.

This is something that the Hansons in the movie would do! lol

The real cup never leaves the Hockey hall of fame. Too valuable

lottsalasagna actually the one you see presented to the players is the real "presentation cup". theres actually three- the 'original' which yes does not leave the HHOF, the 'presentation cup' , the one presented to the players and tours around in summer, and the 'replica cup' which stands in at the HHOF when the 'presentation cup' is out. Actually the one in commercials is the 'presentation cup'. But this one in this video is a complete fake because 1. there is no engraving on the bottom band and 2. there are stringent rules where it is allowed and pawn shops is up there with strip clubs and the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.

In any case, it was a lovely and funny clip, and it's always a delight to see the Hanson / Carlson Boys. I absolutely love them, they're wonderful guys.

Actually the one you see in this video isn't any of the three. This is just a "pick up at a store" thing and has no real connection to the HHOF, NHL, or Stanley Cup. The gloves are here to make it look real, when in actuality, they probably picked it up online for $30.

The real cup stays at the HHOF in a climate controlled case as the silver is getting brittle from all the handling over the years.

THOSE GUYS ARE A F...ING DISGRACE. So funny. Glad the HANSON BROTHERS have always embraced their place in hockey comedy. Not true for a lot of other actors (Sean Penn for example) who do not play along with past roles.

I got to see the Stanley cup in 2000 and got my photo with it. I also meet the guy who in charge of it and got him to sign my photo
