Got a 2014 f150 XLT Supercrewcab, the only thing that doesn't work is drivers lock. If I move the boot, speaker cuts in and out ! All buttons and switches work everything but drivers door lock, try a new activator but was not bad. Can't find a fuse to it. May not have one so either wiring broken or bad bcm ???? Any help fuse???

My bet would be broken wires in the harness. Open it up and visually inspect.

@@PhillipBailey I ordered a harness today because the truck has 230k on it and I will need it now or in the future ! It's the most likely problem since there are no fuses for it and everything else works but the speaker in that door. 🙏 Thanks 👍

Does the kelyess entry work? Did you have to do anything special for it to work? My door is replaced and mine will not work. Dont think it has power. Where was this connection?

The harness in the door is plug and play. Did you replace yours? You say keyless entry does not work but do the other doors lock and unlock with the fob? Do the locks all work from the switches in the cab?

Only thing I’m ever finding frustrating with my 13 f150 XLT is that it doesn’t have the harness for the doors unfortunately. Wonder if they stopped doing the door harness after a certain year.

My F-150 has had the "key in switch", heated seat "over temperature", and mirror codes since the truck was new. The power running board codes are no surprise...they are junk. They are unserviceable junk. Once you get a bit of grime in the bushings, you can try to lube them up but eventually the running boards will win. Should have been designed with some grease ports or something. The only way to "fix" them is to tear them apart and clean them.

Im thinking of building my own wiring harness with silicone jacket. In theory the wires should last alot longer than the factory wires. I had a bunch of broken wires on both my rear doors ... It was registering the doors as open.

It's not worth the effort in my opinion. You would have to build it from that connector in the pillar or if you're going to bypass that it will get ugly. It's your truck but I would not recommend it. The factory harness is not that expensive in my opinion.

@@PhillipBailey yeah your probably right. Just such a drag when wires break. Do you know of a good place to get coil on plug connectors? I do have to replace those. They are loose and tend to slip and cause missfires.

@MaddSweetGT500 if you are referring to the ignition coil connectors most parts stores can get them as a repair pigtail. The dealer will sell them too or you could try a salvage yard for used.

Phillip. I have a 2013 Ford Taurus Limited, and wanted to ask you if you know how the rubber boot and wiring harness is held in place on the hinge pillar? I've tried pushing it back into place, and thought maybe the lip on the rubber boot was what held it in place, but it doesn't appear to be the case. I looked at passenger side, and it appears to just be flush with the pillar, so I'm thinking maybe the wiring harness connector module may snap in place, and possibly has a broken clip or something. If it's the rubber, how do you get it to seat into the hole, given the limited space to front edge closest to engine for lack of a better way to describe. Thanks.

Hi thanks for watching. Although I am not specifically familiar with this connector usually the rubber boot is pulled over the plastic connector body in he A pillar. The connector must be unclipped from the body of the car. There is usually a plastic tab on the top and bottom of the connector retaining it in the pillar that can be released by pressing inwards on the tabs with a small pick. Once the connector is loose from the pillar the boot can then be stretched over the connector and the assembly plugged back in. Sorry wish it was easier to explain. You could go to a salvage yard and possibly look at one that is apart. good luck

It's not difficult to remove and install. Simply unplug all the connectors and unclip from the door. Pay attention to the routing.

Sure wish you explained the main door plug better...I just pushed the female plug back into the truck body. and there's a damn steel wall and emergency break bracket in the way to hold it from the back side. What a stupidly cheap plug to handle so much force. They could've made the tabs out of steel instead of plastic. this will add hours of more work to a simple plug...🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

I have a 2013 reg cab XLT. I recently swapped out my mirrors to tow mirrors. Before I swapped them the power adjust wasn’t working on the passenger side..now that I have my new ones installed the power adjust on the passenger side still isn’t working! I replaced the adjustment toggle switch and the fuse and still nothing…did I receive a faulty mirror or do you think a wire is broken? I still have both turn signals, puddle lamps and heat on both sides. Thanks!

  • @PhillipBailey

There are two motors in each mirror. One up - down and one left - right. Are both functions not working? I'm assuming the driver door mirror works so that eliminates the power and ground to the switch. There are several versions of the circuit though. If you have memory seats there is a separate memory seat module. Without memory check the four wires from the switch through the passenger door pillar. The wires are brown/white, and grey for left -right motor and yellow/violet and grey for up - down. The switch reverses polarity on each pair to move the motor in the opposite direction. Hope this helps you.

@@PhillipBailey Yes, the adjustment works in every direction on the drivers side, and no I don’t have the memory feature on my truck. The adjustment on my passenger side factory mirror stopped working about a year or so ago but the heat and signal still worked. I replaced my factory ones with an aftermarket set a couple weeks ago after a branch fell and cracked the housing. Hoping this isn’t a dealership job where I have to fork out a bunch of money.

@@chriswood8703 so neither direction works on passenger side then. The signal and heater are different circuits. Check the wiring in both door pillar areas like I said.

Make life easier if you feed little connectors through wiring hole in door, leaving main connector outside ready to plug in. Took an hour to do it according to video as hole is too tight for main connector to fit without getting a few extra gray hairs.
