2010 Infiniti FX 30d - owners review (problem solved)

I had some issues with my Infiniti FX 30d. Cold start, revs not steady, white smoke.
The car has full service history and its well maintained.
I solved the problem with DPF removal and EGR delete. ECU is updated and while in-there I added stage 1 map.

Great car, would love to own one if the transmission behave like zf or benz boxes. Did you find a way to flash / update the soft to shift better / quicker?

Thanks for watching. It is a good car indeed!! Its not ZF gearbox it is Jatco JR710E / JR711E, which is ok, i have no problems with it. Deleted DPF and EGR, Stage 1 ,270hp, maybe the gearbox is a bit quicker with this map...it is different that's for sure. Cheers

@SpareTyre-RezervnoKolo I know it s not ZF, I said it didn't behave like a zf or a benz transmission. Jatco are owned by Nissan up to 75%, that s why I called it a Nissan transmission. I felt it shifted way worse than the German competition, and was hoping for an available update at some point. Otherwise, the car is a really tempting package. Cheers!

@@jumolbureanu2415 I don't know if there's a patch for the transmission upgrade/update. With the stage 1 it looks to me it's changing gears differently, maybe quicker, but different...not sure really! I wasn't paying too much attention. ZF's are the best. I had ZF in my 2003 BMW 330i m-sport and 2010 Alfa Romeo 3.2 V6 brera. Those are different cars so can't compare. Never had an SUV with ZF thus far. I bought Infiniti because i like how it looks and as im not much of a driver can't say too much. All I noticed that after this upgrade the consumption is a bit lower, that wasn't my aim to be honest and it pulls better from lower rpm's. I like to keep my car as much stock as possible and not to cheap out on maintenance. Im working offshore and im 28 days at work and 28 days at home. I have 3 cars at home and im not doing so many miles per year. Since I bought it in 11/2022 i did 6000km's. I have charged oil and filters 3 x, every 2000km's because I wanted to flush the engine. The rest is fine, new brakes, some parts in suspension and I think ill have to change the steering rack soon or in due time, because i have noticed a little play on the passenger side. The parts are problem, nothing of the shelf...

@SpareTyre-RezervnoKolo yep, availability of japanese parts can be tricky at times indeed. ZF is great for driving experience and fuel economy. Don't feel like they can compete with mercedes transmissions reliability wise. Hope you ll cover many miles with little trouble!

My friend what's reliable or not these days...Bmw or Merc or Alfa or Infiniti...Its a matter of proper maintenance and what do you like. You don't have to be scared about the engine. Its renault/nissan V6 used in Navara, Pathfinder, Laguna V6...its V9X engine for your info, check pros and cons. Infiniti's chassis is mostly nissan 370 z, engine and other is renault/nissan. The only thing what's worrying me is how to source the spare parts. You can't get them off the shelf like for Merc/Bmw. It always requires a bit of digging. Other than that its a great and quality car. BTW im the owner of the spare tyre channel but using different account.
