Yeh, only do it if the wins secured, and you’re 100% sure you are far from your PR, which is probably never a good idea in a 100, 200, probably even a 400. Reserve it for the tactical Distance races like the 1500, 800, 5k, etc

mYSport I mean, for qualifiers, small meets, when your just testing the waters sure. But when you’re at a world championship or some major meet in the finals and your coming out clearly in good time (possibly world record time) I don’t think there’s any reason to ease up (in a bad way as in intentionally slow down). And you say it’s for preservation, but that means only 1 person is ever preserving themselves, because the only person to ever ease up is in first.

Only Bolt can do it and break records..However, I still believe his 9.69 is the greatest because if he hadn't ease up 20m before finish the WR would have flash @ 9.52 or even lower. That race still blow my mind to this day.

When you think after the age of 23 Bolt declined. Now we have to wait for a similar physical specimen who does take it seriously. That's when Bolts records fall.

Furthermore no white man can beat Usain Bolt, this is totally impossible and I make no apology!! Look at all the Olympic Games over the years...black persons always win, whether running for Britain, France, Germany, USA or any other country!! Only time black athletes got recognition in any of these aforementioned white man’s country is in sports. Before the Olympic games or other athletic events they are all second class citizens, ostracized and belittled because of their skin colour. Then suddenly at world events they are referred to as Americans, French, Germans etc....after all these they go back to discrimination and racial prejudice just like after the Vietnam war when they returned to the USA!!

One main factor that you all miss. Usain as a junior at the age of fifteen in his first year of doing track broke the junior record with a time of 19.9. This achievement would foretell that he will be a great athlete. Highlight to me any of the greats that have been showcased if they have this accomplishment. Secondly Usain have a back injury that he cannot aggravate, this lessen his training time and overly exhausted himself hence why he retires early and not able to carry out intensive training. Thirdly Usain is the most sought after track athlete ever for endorsement, advertisement, PR and you name it, no other track athlete have this. With these commitments his training time will be imposed on. With all of these challenges that he overcame he did remarkable and should be noted as the best.

Drew, that's not what NLS is referring to. They're mentioning how close the FIRST 100m of the 200m race is to his PB in a 100m race. Both of these races and metrics being referenced are from a "dead start". With that stated, I'd argue that the mechanics of running a curved 100m (beginning of the 200m) are different than a 100m open - straight. It is possible to angle your run to actually run technically less than a full 100m by either running closer to the center throughout, or swinging closer later but before the straight comes up. Yet, some runners, ahem, Wallace Spearmon, struggle with the curves to a degree that it actually gives them a disadvantage. My bet is that Michael Johnson (the guy with a 10.09 PB) is not at a disadvantage at the least, on curves seeing as though he's not a long and tall stride kind of guy. Nonetheless, it's impressive that he pulled that off in a longer race. He probably, in theory, should have a sub-10 on the books.

And you just can't deal with these facts so you have to twist the meaning of my words. We can never say we know for a fact that he did not and as I said particularly given others facts I mentioned like - MANY HAVE BEEN CAUGHT AFTER THEY RETIRED, ALL OTHER JAMAICANS ON THE TOP 10 HAVE PED VIOLATIONS, AND JAMAICA DID NOT HAVE GOOD TESTING FACILITIES. ALL FACTS! Stop crying and deal with these truths man. Just because I point out the possibility under such facts does not mean that his greatness is in doubt or that he is guilty of such possibility. Get your head out of his ass. He may be just a very unique individual or - or not. Who knows - you don't! Until otherwise he is the GOAT. But we don't have to deny these facts in order to say that.
