2009 Honda CRF150R No start issues. Carburetor cleaning.

Hello everyone! This video is of a 2009 Honda CRF150R Dirt Bike that would not start after sitting. I had to clean the carburetor to get this bike back up and running. Not only was the pilot jet clogged but the float needle was also stuck closed. This would prevent any fuel from entering the carburetor.

Thank you for posting. It's kinda afraid to pull my carb apart just because i never have but this makes me feel a lot more comfortable
How many turns did u do the air mixture screw
thanks for sharing. if you have time on the next carburetor rebuild can you explain any special tools you like to use in cleaning. what spray do you like the best? Do you soak the parts or just clean and install. thanks again for the video.

Good morning. The special tools that I use sometimes is a jet cleaning kit. Which is basically a welding tip cleaner. However, I have a video about the welch plugs that need to be removed too if a carburetor has never been cleaned. I will use a brake cleaner for most of the outer body and once the gasket is removed on the bowl ill use a carburetor cleaner. I use whatever is on sale for carburetor cleaner to be honest. Soaking all depends. I remove the bowl and fill it with carburetor cleaner and put in all of the jets to soak while I clean other parts. Hope this helps. I will make a video too.
Did anyone notice how the preload nut on the shock wasn't tight at all?
Great video ! What jets is that bike running and what is the sea level elevation ?!

Hi. This bike had stock jets and we are very close to sea level here in the Phoenix Area. We are only at about 1,086 ft.

@@OTRVM Here in Canada we have to deal with cold weather and its a pain in the as* loll. I think im gonna try the JD jet kit with 45 pilot jet and I guess it gonna start and run better !
