Have you ever compared the signature series VS. The OE Fuel-Efficient fluid? They seem to meet the same standards. Which one is better? And are they both better than OEM/Benz fluid ??

Yes they're both better than OEM men's fluid because they are 100% synthetic. The signature series is better because of the flow additive packages in the cold also they have higher quality modifiers and detergents that will allow the fluid to last longer without thickening. The signature series can handle double the severe service of OEM which is an exponential breakdown which means it has to be four times better at that or more to meet and exceed that specification.

Yes I'll definitely get to that I am working on doing a lot of OEMs to show the difference but eventually we'll get back to doing the amsoil versus amsoil

Serious point that is not mentioned in this video: when removing the old filter the o-ring gasket almost always get left behind the the valve body. The o-ring seal MUST be removed before installing the new filter with the new gasket. Be careful.

After you remove the plug from the pan, you take a screwdriver and pop the fill tube off its base inside the pan which is what it's designed to do and the fluid will drain down to the base of the fill plug eliminating the overflow from the sides of the pan when you remove the pan screws. Hope this tip helps you DIY'ers from getting tranny oil all over the place! Also, you should drain the torque converter at the same time to do it right.

Thanks for the video eben. Hey, ive read online and seen on some youtube videos that whenever changing the atf on a car, only abt 40 percent of the old atf fluid that is in the car gets drained out. As such, many folks recommend to drive the car for a few hours (after changing the atf for the first time) and then drain the atf for the second time and by doing this, 80 percent of the fluid gets replaced. Yes that helps by doing that most of the time the best thing is to just change the transmission fluid more often in that way the filter never gets full in the ATF fluid is always fresh. However the dealerships usually plan 4 the transmission to fail at a certain point because the Transmissions are neglected and then most people only change 40 to 50% like you just said. I think it depends on how the fluid looks if the fluid looks really good you're fine just dropping the pan and changing the filter. If it looks a little rough I think you're better off doing a new filter fluid and then doing another drain and fill within a few thousand miles

So my question is when should i change the ATF. Will be using the amsoil atf. The reason im asking that is bc some folks say not to trust the owners manual on everything-especially if it says to change the atf at 100k thst is too much and the ATF should be changed much earlier. So, should i change it at 30k, 40k, 50k, or 60k? Thanks in advance eben.

The ideal interval on changing the transmission is 30 to 50 thousand miles with OEM fluid it depends on the way the vehicles driven. Personally if it was my car like I do with my car I change my transmission fluid every 30,000 miles no matter what but that's my car. You will see a big difference in the way the engine shifts and it'll run much smoother less vibration in the drivetrain also I recommend doing the differential as well.

@@andrewatm216 my Lexus started shifting very rough and abrupt at just less than 40k miles. I changed the trans filter and oil to amsoil. Thank goodness it drove like new after. However Lexus doesnt allow all of the fluid to be changed out so I did it again at 9 months. Probably overkill but to me spending $150 to change the fluid again was much cheaper than $6,000 to replace. Amsoil has sold me on its abilities. Thanks Eben.

Wix is the original thread on filter designed in 1955 and Wicks is the leader in filtration. Amsoil has proprietary synthetic medium that is unavailable by other filter manufacturers and that's what makes Amsoil so special also Amsoil uses a higher-quality silicone anti drain back valve that doesn't deform with heat compared to other rubbers that are used on many other filters. If the engine oil filter is not available your second-best filter would be to use a Wix filter. I personally use Amsoil oil filters on my car because the higher quality filtration less we're in the engine and better cold starts because the anti drain back valve holds the oil in the filter.

I have a question for you regarding my Mercedes Benz CLS550 2013 car. I have 45,000 miles on my car. My car does not have any symptoms related to Transmission. Do I need to change the transmission fluid ?

Great question Maz. You do not have to do anything on your car. That's correct most Vehicles you do not drain the torque converter all you do is just change the pin that changes about 30 to 56% of the fluid you can always come back later and do a drain and fill or another pin drop in a few thousand miles that's what I did on my personal car and it made a huge Improvement in the shifting speed vibration and fuel mileage. Yeah they're a little complicated they're very good cars the 2015 is a little more involved you got to actually support the transmission mount cuz you have to take the brackets alligator at the West both and you have to turn the crankshaft cuz you got to take the food out of the torque converter takes like 10 quarts of oil

There's all different models..... As for a street tire there are a couple of them that are still one of the best in the world and then one of the really good companies that is copying them is called Toyo and they make some of the best tires as well. Yes, It's best to have it sometimes you can actually fill it from the side of the top just depends on the unit some have a bolt there and you can actually pump it in the top until it overflows out the straw

I'm not sure what VW DSG is? EAO filter is a little bit larger and that is for mainly SUVs and trucks and those filters last one year or 25000 miles of normal driving. If you do excessive idling and driving in severe conditions that's Dusty you should change that filter at 15,000 miles or 1 year whichever comes first.

It depends on the unit sometimes you can fill it from the side of the top of the transmission from underneath it's like a bolt that comes out and then you can actually fill it until it overflows out of the straw

You said" She is a leaker" when you dropped the pan. That is because you didn't knock out the stand pipe. A new one comes in the kit. At 7:12 you can see the stand pipe still attached to the pan. You also did not drain the torque converter as this system has 9+ liters of fluid. So why spend the money on Amsoil when you only have 50% Amsoil in the system along with another 4 quarts of old fluid left behind. AGA makes a tool for this tranny that enables evacuation of ALL old fluid. The minimum you could have done was pull the drain plug on the torque converter. I would not be a happy customer if that was my car. ☹

Yeah there's so many ways to take off an oil filter even on the motor oil some put a hole through the filter with a pic of dreaded take it off but at the end of the day it's got to come out it's always going to be messy and some people like to be cute with it others just get in there and start yanking👍 Are you a youtuber?

Lotta wrong going on here, the aluminum pan bolts are a 1 time use only item as they are stretched to the correct clamping force after being torqued, a white or black overflow tube usually indicates a red trans, a green overflow tube usually means blue trans fluid. The trans build date determines what fluid is used.

The Amsoil meets the spec however it's a different liquid cherry color it's more a little bit purplish dark dark cherry - www.amsoil.com/p/signature-series-fuel-efficient-synthetic-automatic-transmission-fluid-atl/?zo=5331179 A lot of the manufacturers have different colors that's more or less their signature like you'll see the Hondas have the blue coolant and then the Mopar has there nice red pink coolant

On these what you do as a pin drop that's about half the fluid and then after you drop the pain you just refill it you can always come back and do another drain and fill later and as you do it more you'll get more percentage of the old fluid out

@@Syntheticoilprotection I bought my 08 S550 for $16,000 with 59,000 on the clock. We did a brake fluid exchange, transmission service, new spark plugs, recalibrated the suspension and changed all filters for $1,200.00 at my local German specialist. She needed love desperately ! I don't even want to know what the dealership would have charged us. 😒 I'm looking forward to many more fun miles down the road with her.

Hi, do you have actual facts such as scientific lab analysis or microscopic of pistons and cylinders of cars that periodically used those products or shall people just believe in your words? According to many mechanics and even auto producers press offices those cleaners are absolutely useless
