2008 GMC Sierra Oil Pressure Sensor Replacement

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

If your dash gauge is showing low pressure, it could be the oil pressure sensor or the screen could be blocked. Here's how to replace both and how to check your dash gauge to see if it's working.
Thanks for watching!

Thank you for making this video. I have had my 07 Sierra a long time and want to keep it. I watched your video around noon, decided I could it, bought the parts at 4:30, and took about an hour and half as I had to play around in order to get the original sensor loose. Got the mesh out with a snipped hanger and haven’t looked back. Thanks for a great video that ended up saving me $500 or more

Fantastic . I had pulled the brake booster hose off the back of the intake. I didnt see at first the red release tab thingy. I needed to use a small screwdriver to pull in or push in the red ring towards the front of the truck and the hose slipped out while i pulled on it. Your best part showing that screen being removed. Thanks for a great view.

My opinion is getting cheap oil changes at a quick oil place is his issue. But 23 psi at idle is plenty of oil pressure, and it went up with a little rpm. I believe the factory min specs is well below that. The owner did change the oil after I changed the sensor and the pressure did go up more. I could've changed his oil but he wanted to go to his normal oil change place. People need to realize that just because you've been going to someone for years, doesn't mean they are doing what's best for you or your vehicle. I often work on vehicles that "their normal guy" can't figure out. When it's the normal guy that is the issue.

People say yes and some say no if there's no leaks and your not losing oil and the level on the stick is good you can drive it but when something really happens the motor will go toast quickly.. also if you're check engine light goes on it won't pass inspection.. because even if you clear the error code the light will pop on and you'll fail..

Hidden down in a inaccessible hole they go bad at the most in opportune time. Could have put the ### thing where you could actually service it. A five dollar Chinese part for over hundred dollars to go bad in six months. Tricky to remove hidden wire connector behind useless cover. No wonder people by Japanese vehicles.
