Probably the best camera shot on the exact location. Every other video just gives you a general idea.

I've been looking at a bunch of these videos about the sensor switch and yours was by far the most entertaining. Gonna pick up the part today and try to do this with a partial tear in my rotator cuff. No pain no gain I guess.

Thank you !!!!! Mine keeps reading 0 oil pressure as well, and most of the time when the sensor goes bad it just stays pegged at 80psi, you’re the only video that shows it reading low at 0psi ,’feel so much better now and am purchasing sensor now

I just replaced mine and I understand the reference to the Force. I had to feel for the hole to screw it back in and again to get the tab on the harness plugged in.

All around very helpful video. Couple of additions: 1- on my 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500, the sensor is mounted horizontally to the bottom right (drivers side) of the distributor. 2- a wheel bearing socket is the same size and depth if you don’t have the socket in this video (or don’t want to buy one). 3- such a pain in the ass to get to for both removal and installation. I removed the distributor cap and the plug in the side of the distributor for easier access. 4- after doing this for the first time, I would set aside an hour and a half for the next time. Between the swearing, sweating, cleanup, and shit-talking of GM, it took longer than expected. 5- when installing the new one, put it in the socket first. Otherwise there isn’t room between the sensor and firewall to get the socket back on. 6- finally, whoever designed this can go fuck themselves.

Just replaced mine it was reading at 80 now with the new one its at or close to 0 and the oil pressure low warning comes on. To top it off the wire harness clip was brittle and snapped off when i went in to remove the old one. Any tips as what i need to check or try next?

I wonder how much of that crud got knocked into the oil passage? That new sensor probably won't last long. Always clean first. Good info on what is required though.

Hello im doing the same thing to my truck one question? When i took out the sensor it didnt have a filter in my teuck but the sensor i bought came with one do. Does it need it i have a silverado 2003 4.8

My new sensor came with a filter thing not sure if i juat drop that down there or what?

Mine came pre-covered with pipe dope. So no tape was necessary.

that hose is the brake booster hose for the intake. u can pop it out by pulling the red tab towards you and pulling out the house connector. harder to do on the gmt 900s cause they added a plastic housing so this is a cakewalk compared to the 800s

What size socket

The air bag problem with mine was the driver and passenger seat cut a wire on a harness underneath and all I had to do was splice the wire and fix it. Makes the airbag light go off

Adam Ortego what about the ABS light? Do you know of a hack or a common diagnosis because my abs light won’t turn off?

Should have put the music at the end. That’s usually when peoples heart starts racing if something we fixed is actually gona work

There is a screen filter in that hole that you need to replace when you replace the sensor FYI to anyone planning on doing this or else all that effort was for nothing if that screen filter is clogged

On an actual side note: there usually is a filter thingy in the engine just under the sensor that should be at least taken out and cleaned if not replaced completely to help avoid premature eja-i mean failure. Yes, failure.

Where is the oil level sensor located on the 4.3 L ? I have a 02 Silverado and CANNOT find it on the oil pan. Is it inside the pan❓❓❓❓ Please share any videos that would help. No but it can still leak and oil will run down the back of the motor.

This oil sensor video wasn’t shot with motor in vehicle the guy laying underneath hood was, been there all done by feel no room for light or camera

IMPORTANT:::::::: at 3:04 in his video you can see this also please add this so everyone else has all the information like right next to the oil pressure sensor is a bolt and the engine block molds with that bolt and you must use a thin wall socket not a heavy impact socket like i have just bought because its to thick to fit between that bolt head and the pressure sensor nut also that plastic point there that digs into arm put there by a god dam engineer to keep us all from doing this you can just cut it off file it down its just plastic
