Thank you for this great detailed video. Just did mine this weekend, this helped tremendously. Took your advise and looked for a pump that had been replaced, but unfortunately my local junk yard had only one fusion with the correct part and it was OEM. Decided to take the chance and so far it is working. Only bump in the road I had was even with the stubby torx socket I couldn't fit my socket wrench in to get the #40 torx bolt. Went and bought a L-shaped torx wrench set, problem solved. Part was $51 and bought probably $30 worth of tools to make the job easier. Guessing I saved myself at least $500.00.

I love your really positive attitude and the details in your verbal comments about tools used. I wonder why the yellow tie when doing difficult work like this job? Years ago someone showed me how to bleed brakes using clear glass jar and rubber hose from the bleed nipple to glass jar and fill the jar half to 3/4 full of brake fluid and let hose drop below the level of the brake fluid in the jar. The air will come out and fluid in jar prevents air getting in. This way a single person can do the bleed job without a 2nd person. Seems like Ford should do something about the high rate of abs failures. Chevy has same problem with the Kelsey Hayes 2WAL and 4WAL abs and everyone knows, but no one does anything to address the situation with unreliable abs systems and the high cost of repairs.

I have it at the stealership right now and they're scratching their head. Im sure it,s the abs module. I hate to have them do it but I,m so tired of working on this thing. One thing that might help somebody is my lines turn when I turn the nut. I spray it with pb blaster and that didn't do it so I used a heat gun to get it hot and after a few minutes it started to free up then used anti seize on the line and threads when I put back together. Not on the end where fluid comes out.

gotcha ok thanks. im working on a 2008 milan right now with the same problem. from my research, one of the valves inside the abs pump starts to stick open which allows the fluid to just circulate back to the reservoir. a temporary fix is to find a slick surface and slam the brakes to activate the abs system. do this several times. From what we found, there are two lines coming from the master, and four lines from the abs out to the wheels, so the bypass must go as follows: 1. The line from the front of the master must tie into the two lines going to the front wheels. 2. The line from the rear of the master must tie into the two lines going to the rear wheels. According to the feedback we found online, the system worked without any more problems, but they said the abs light will be on.

I first changed the master cylinder thought its an internal leak in the MC, but I figured its a ABS leak when I was bleeding the system for hours and was never able to get the air out. Noticed the ABS is sucking the air in, and leaking out the fluid. I am gonna report it to nhtsa site.
