I have an 09 Yaris with 260,000 on the clock. Always starts, runs great, drives meh. Can't complain for what I paid. And everything still works!

I have a 2010 model, with power windows and the speedometer is different. Can’t ask for a better commuter. I bought at 147k miles and now 163k 😅 after 1y and 3 months of driving around Florida. I’m in love with it.

In Ireland the yaris has only a 1.0 liter and a 1.33vvti engine. I never knew about these 1.5 and 1.8 in a Yaris until now. The 1.33 drinks oil but the little 1.0 liter is 👍

Good morning Nathan This is John Chan the fisherman. I will be 54 yr in a little bit . At the moment my wife and I own 5 toyt. We had bad incidents in Florida with our rental car, 2022 Honda pilot, transmission issues at 44k miles, had to be away from my driveway. Just learned the yaris from 2007 to 2019 , they are well made. The most reliable car to get point A to point B. We will buy a cheap one to keep at our Florida home sowe don't have to change our flight. Liked your video, thanks

Hi John, glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, they are simple, easy and economical cars to go from A to B without much care or worry! I would recommend having one at your Florida home - you can't go wrong! Take care and Happy New Year!

Good morning Nathan We bought a 2009 Yaris sedan for about 5K with 155K miles on the speedo. Got in mid April;like driving it. I changed engine oil, transmission fluid, and brake fluid. We drove our kid to MN in the Yaris. We only spent about $120 in gas. The car was loaded 3 adults and luggage. It average 35 to 36 mpg. Traveled for approximately 1500 miles from MA to MN. We lost two hubcaps, bought new ones then I secured the cabs to the wheels with zip ties. I don't have any negative things to say about this Yaris. Oh yeah when I got MN I added 1/4 quoart of engine oil. That's it. When my kid finishes the 10 weeks of internship, we will drive it back to MA. I love that little dingy car. Thanks for your awesome advice, but safe young man...

Kanto Auto Works built these. The most legendary Toyota facility in Japan that no longer exists. It was wiped out by a massive tsunami in 2012. That’s when Toyota became “ Toyota motor east Japan” I have a 09 sedan S model. I love the car been extremely reliable but it’s kinda dumb that the base model had no cruise control. The other model had hand crank windows. Top model had cruise control and electric windows. (Which mine has both) also hate that the belt doesn’t have an automatic tensioner. Gotta manually tighten the drive belt yourself once a year . It’s easy to do. 13mm socket on the top alternator bolt. Loosen and pull back with a pry bar. But the 1.5 liter engine is legendary with the extremely reliable UC3204 transmission. Toyota made amazing 1.5 and 1.8 liter engines and this trans is bullet proof.

As you all can see in this video, no cruise control on this yaris, also has the cheaper radio not the nicer radio in the top model like mine. I hate that Toyota did this.

I've just subscribed, rang the notification bell & "Like" I bought my Jan 2009 Toyota Yaris 4-door Sedan (Base) with manual transmission, 15" steel wheels, all the bells & whistles except for the Cold Weather Package. Of all the 2011 Toyota recalls only one pertained the Yaris, the grease on some component on the driver's door needed to be replaced because the Yaris is the lowest profit margin the entire care was manufactured in Japan - no South American made sub assembles used in the assembly like all other models here in America. Toyota Yaris engines were manufactured with chain driven timing chains, NOT timing BELTS like on Honda's. I drove my brand new Yaris off the Dealer's lot & NEVER had to take it back because something didn't work. MY Yaris now has only 106,489 miles on the odometer. Other than normal Oil/Filter changes, battery replacement, & tires, the only added maintenance has been replacement of the Air Conditioner coolant, rear shock absorbers, serpentine belt. 39.514 MPG is the accumulated overall gas mileage for the entire 106,489 I've put on the odometer, which is more than the EPA highway gas mileage of 36 mpg. I bought the Yaris because I wanted a "mechanically reliable" vehicle with high EPA gas mileage estimates - lucky me I got one that was assembled as RIGHT as RIGHT can be. Most of those miles have been driven in relatively salt free roads in Arizona & Nevada. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada.

@@NSLTCProject Farms, whom I consider a reliable resource did a RECENT testing of Headlight Restoration kits & may have come up with a winner. CeraKote Headlight Restoration Kit is the product; check out his video. I bought one & am planning to use it on someone elses car to see if it works for years instead of a couple of months. Replacing headlight housings was an all day project for MEeee, one I really don't want to do again. Project Farms said, at the conclusion of his most recent video that he was going to put all headlight housings recently tested outside for a year & come back with a video showing which one, if any, protected the housings from UV rays.

I actually didn't know they had sold the Yaris in the US...or rather, I didn't remember it. Very preserved for 215k+ miles! It looks like a third of it, actually.
