I bought a used one in 2017 for $2000 with 103,000 miles on it. It was in good condition maybe 7/10. Used it until 2023. I used the it a lot and only did one oil change and service during 2020. Sold it with 200,000 miles to a dealer in 2023 and they bought it for $6500. What a car.

A friend of mine had a similar Yaris with 100000 miles. I drove it once. I was impressed with the pep it had for such basic transportation. The Yaris is a little bit of a VW Beatle. A people's car. An unassuming, reliable friend that will never let you down. I'm a Toyota guy and find the looks cute. The Yaris looks friendly.

Yep! they had an unassuming charm, yeah i'm base so what? I'm cool...never bought one but drove some and some part of me always want to have one...Fun car, a dying breed...now no toyota gives me that kind of attraction, they are all SUV CVT blob with no emotion, we need a new base, manual, cool toyota at affordable prices...I will pay cash, right now for something like this! The yaris cross kicks ass in europe, bring it in!

Its a cute car always wanted this version of the Yaris. In my country they call this the 2nd gen Vios and they are the work horse of taxi fleets abd yes very durable cars that can handle fat passengers, floods, bad roads drunks etc. There are still alot of em running to this day. I got a mitsubishi g4 instead its also cute in away but less powerfull than the Yares

My parents had a 2008 Toyota Yaris hatchback with the automatic transmission. That car was supposedly meant for the middle east market as the side mirror's warnings were in Arabic. That car was basically indestructible. We jammed 6 people (albeit, small-built Southeast Asians) and about 6 small luggages into it and drove for nearly 2000kms of various terrain. It never gave us trouble during that trip or in fact any other trips. A testament to this car's reliability

I drove my 2008 Yaris Sedan for about 14 years. Sadly a creep totaled mine last year and it was toast. It made it to 254k miles and would probably have kept going...with replacement parts. It was my first car and it felt like saying goodbye to an old friend when they took it away to the yard.

The Echo was actually the first generation Yaris in the rest of the world. They also got a smaller 1.3 4 cylinder engine in addition to the 1.5 that the North American models got. There was also a Yaris Verso (an MPV/wagon version of the Yaris) with a tall boxy body and a swingout tailgate that was sold in most other countries.

When I moved to the U.S in 2016, this was the car that picked me up at the airport, mom's green 2009 Yaris. For a while it was our only car and it was great. As a car enthusiast I didn't like how it looked, and didn't like it's bland driving characteristics, but damn it was a good car. Zero mechanical issues, just a leak on the back window. It drove fine, was comfortable, hauled our stuff, and got good fuel mileage. For the average joe that wants to save a buck, its a fantastic option.

I bought a fully loaded 09 Yaris S sedan with 92K miles wholesale for $3700 in 2017. That price is tax/tag/fees/interest included. I still daily drive the car to this day and it has 125K miles. Everything has been maintence, no repairs except the blend door got stuck and the cable poped off but that was really easy to fix. I also replaced the door window belt moldings but that was also easy, and like $30.

A full Toyota product at its best (because the later sedan for the U.S. is a Mazda 2) simple, reliable, durable, quite spacious and (imo) a very well made car for its class. 5 people on my street have one since new and all of them are still running strong to this day. At one point in time, this was even one of the most frequently stolen cars (so they tell me). These are just dead reliable, very easy to maintain, fuel efficient and mostly light on their feet because of the VVT-i engine that really likes aiming for the top of the rev range. I tested one with the 5spd and it was really a blast to drive... but the automatic somehow fared even better in these

We called it vios here in Indonesia. And there's also a base version of it called limo which we use it as regular taxi fleet up to 2019 when taxi companies swich to mpvs and minivans. This is a very reliable car capable reaching hundreds and hundreds of kilometers without falling apart. This thing has been tested on a very dynamic jakartan street where traffic jam, floods and high temperatures as well as high humidity combines. This thing kept going through strong even after going through all of those tortures. If you guys wanna buy a cheap, reliable, dependable vehicle i highly recommend choosing this thing. It wasn't comfortable but it will last till the day jesus come to save the world.

The Yaris used the same dependable motor until 2017. There is a performance market for the engine - some mod the Yaris to high outout. Watch the Car Care Nut review of the Yaris. The Fit has better packagìng, the Yaris can go 500,000 miles and then a cheap JDM.motor can get you more. If you care more about saving in a 401K than nice stuff now, get a Yaris and leave the Silverado parked until you need to haul something

I swear automakers do everything they can to make small cars as much of a penalty box as possible. The design of this would have never gone far in North America. They need to start building small cars purpose built for the North American market rather than lazily bringing deisgns aimed at other markets. Toyota did this for decades with the Corolla. Idk why they made the Yaris so bad. These small cars are embarrassing. I drive a subcompact myself so I know what I'm talking about lol.

Maybe dog or cat hair!! I find it odd people don't hoover their cars out before handing them over to be filmed! 🤣🤣😳😳

Definitely dog hair. We have six dogs currently at the house (volunteer for two Shiba rescues) so sometimes they want to go for a ride! It's a car that gets driven every day, not a beauty contest entry. Was luck that my wife had the day off when Zack was able to come out so it was a last minute thing for him to be able to drive it.

We had a yaris come in well over 400k miles, still running well. Original motor and trans, and in good shape considering the road salt used here. Such good cars
