    Sold thousands of trucks and sport utilities in the 30 years as a dealer. Little baby Hummer is one my favorite vehicles. Hated Jeeps except for the 4.0 Cherokees. When they stopped building them in 01 I quit buying jeeps. My wife wont give up her 07 H3 baby Hummer. In 15 years it has never been in the shop except for oil changes.

    I’m looking at the H3 and found one for a good deal with 115k miles. Any issues I should be aware of? It’s the 5 cylinder. I’m basically a bird photographer that goes into remote places to shoot. I don’t plan on doing crazy off roading but it’s nice to know I could. I’m also debating the FJ cruiser and even a Subaru Forester. You fellas have any opinions on what may be best for my needs? I hear the H3 has a good sunroof. I could shoot birds out the top I suppose! Thanks

    Thanks! Sorry for late reply, the car is all wheel drive so it drives using all 4 all the time. It also has the 4 wheel high and 4 wheel low controls. I have had no mechanical issues and now have about 75K miles on the truck. The radiator is the only thing that went but is quite common with these cars. Parts are pretty easy to find as well, but probably won't be much of a worry considering these trucks are pretty reliable!

  • @jakess707

    @jakess707

    7 жыл бұрын

    Well so far this truck has caused next to zero problems (Mechanical and transmission). Jut typical maintenance. Around 55k miles the coolant/antifreeze should be flushed, belts should be checked (they should still be good), the brake pads will go soon if they have not gone already, your also going to want to do the differential fluid, and transfer case fluid. Other than that make sure the radio unit functions properly because ive gone through 2 units already. Besides that minor issue, these trucks are built to last a lifetime! Good Luck!

    I bought an '07 H3, 3.7 manual 102k mi. in near perfect condition a year ago for $13k. As I understand it, the '07's have an issue with the ignition that was fixed in '08's and later. On mine you can't just twist the key all the way to start it. You have to turn it to ON, wait for the idiot lights to turn off/bell to stop, then start it. If I don't do this often the security system will interpret it as a theft and kick in and it will not start for 10 minutes. I researched the issue online and how I described starting it is the fix. People have spent $400+ having the dealer replace ignition parts, but nothing fixes it. It's no big deal to use the start procedure I described but is a huge deal if you buy one and don't have this information. Otherwise I absolutely love mine.

  • @stopglobalwhining2

    Oh and there is an issue with the hood louvres/that black plastic thing on the hood. It can blow off. There was a recall and the fix was glue, which is BS. Inspection revealed mine already had the recall remedy. Mine blew off in a car wash, in the dryer section, broke. GM would not fix it again, even though I told them their "fix" didn't fix it. It still blew off. haha. I bought a replacement on Amazon. Must have been redesigned because the clips are different/better. My advice would be to keep it out of auto car washes, i.e. 90mph blower/dryers.

I hope I can still find one in good shape. If you guys know someone selling a black one like the one in the video, let me know!!! kzread.info/dash/bejne/iYmglbOmc9TSc9Y.html Question: Do you know any frequent problems with the H3's? I've heard about some issues with the front axle, but not quite sure that's true? Any thoughts on that? Keep up with these great videos! Maybe you can get the chance to make a video with the new Hummer that is supposed to come out this year or next year. That would be an awesome video!

    No lockers. H3s are not good sry. Very Unrealible. And yea I would hope u would have nothing wrong with it at 65,000. Cheap plastic interior. Never ever would consider a H2 or H3 real hummers. Maybe a modified chevy Colorado lol
