Thanks for posting. Videos like this confirm that I can do this myself with no special tools. One suggestion... Don't ignore the torque specs, especially on the sway bar end link. Over torque that bolt and the next time you may not get if off without having to use the hex wrench in the center of the bolt. In the rust belt, it's just about certain that the hex wrench will ream out the bolt and then the real fun starts. Also don't forget thread lock on the lower strut bolts.

Amen. In rust areas, get the swaybar links when you buy the struts. If you dont need them, take them back afterwards. Get PROPER swaybar links - the kind with a nice fat Hex on the ball side, thats the only kind that usually is removable when rusted. Those tiny internal hexes are an absolute joke, every time they will strip. If you have to cut the swaybar link out, a small Sawzall and Dremel with cutoff tool are your friends. I hate that job. Stay gold.

Torque specs: 2005 - 2010 Odyssey Front: upper 3 (strut top to strut tower) - 33 lbf-ft. endlink to strut (from swaybar) - 58 lbf-ft. Lower 2 pinch bolts: 116 lbf-ft. Rear: Upper 2: 33 lbf-ft. Lower 1: 58 lbf-ft. Stay gold.

Its possible yes. But you need a spring compressor. And a way to remove the top strut nut. For an average DIY, the complete strut assembly is usually more cost and time effective. Stay gold.

That's a strut....not a shock.... similar / serve same purpose..
