2006 Toyota Camry 2.4L Power Steering Return Hose Replacement 44416-33140 44416-06100 Leak Repair

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video I replace the lower power steering hose on a 2006 Toyota Camry LE with the 2.4L 4-Cylinder engine.
Toyota OEM part number: 44416-33140 or 44416-06100
The hardest part of the job was getting the rusted bolts and clamps off the existing line. The rubber hose actually came off the metal barbs quite easily. If you did not run into any rusted hardware this would take only a half hour. However, rust happens. It took me about 2 hours, including prep time, cleanup, and camera positioning.

    Thanks for this video. It turned out a lot easier than I was expecting. I soaked those hold down clamp screws for a week before attempting. They were still tight but they came out easily by turning them back and forth. Note to others, my old line and new line went in easier by taking it out the top. Might be a good idea to cover the rubber hose ends with tape when maneuvering the new line so as not to get debris in the hose. I replaced the front rubber hose - easy.

    Excellent video! This is exactly what I was hoping I would find. And great job getting the camera in at every step and in-focus to help make things clear for novices like me. Thanks again!

    Thank you for this video..I just put sameline on my 02 camry. Your video is how I knew I could handle the job on my own...thanks again for your vid. My new line is in and no more leaks. Except I didn't take old line out. I just put new line next to the old one. Worked fine.

    The environmental conditions wherever you live are ROUGH on cars! As a kid, I lived in AK and this was normal. Since 1989, I've lived in Phoenix this whole time and underneath, cars look brand new still when they're 20, 30 years old. Yeah, our paint gets damaged from the sun, but working on cars is so much easier. Anyway, thanks for the video. I'm doing this repair on a buddy's Camry today (also from Alaska - the buddy, not the car) and it looks simple enough. Messy, but simple.

    Nice job. I have a small leak and I think it is coming from the same place on my Camry.

    That's the high pressure line the return line goes to the back of the pump and is just a rubber hose that mounts to a metal elbow by a hose clamp on the back of the pump.

    Nice. You should checkout Koken Nut-Grip sockets. They will keep you from dropping nuts and bolts.

    This is crazy but my 2000 toyota solara V6 has this line and it is leaking in the same spot. I may just cut out the rusted part of tubing and get a longer piece of hose?

    You could use hose and clamps but you'll have to make sure the hose is secured and will not find its way into the path of the drive pulleys.

    That hose goes to the rack and pion I followed it from the power steering Reservoir

  • @striker1211

    @striker1211

    Yeah, it's returning the low pressure fluid to the reservoir after being used by the rack. The fluid is under high pressure from the pump to the rack.

    The part I ordered is just one piece pre assembled, and part of the entire return line The return line is made up of multiple pieces between the reservoir and output of the steering rack.
