2006 Bissell Powerforce Bagless 6579-2 Restoration Project | Pt 1/2 of 3: Partial Wash (READ DESC)

In this video, I begin washing the parts off of my new to me Powerforce Bagless, however my phone ran out of storage and cut the last 5 minutes off of the video. Because of this, I will simply upload both videos as separate parts of Part 2. Despite this, thanks for watching and hope you enjoy!

This brings me back to when I did a 2 part livestream where I tore down my Bissell powerforce bagless 6579-2 and gave it a deep clean . Nice work

Very nice! My mom texted me earlier and the one time i’m not home (i always am) she went to a thrift store and grabbed me a Really nice condition Bissell Powerforce Bagless 6579-3, for $10. And a Newer fancy Electrolux canister. The pics on my community tab. Idk how well they run, i won’t be back until tomorrow

Nice! Also I would strongly consider getting the World Vac Victory as those are nice. Too bad that one doesn't have a headlight but like the Bissell, it wouldn't be terribly hard to swap one in if you can find the parts (if you care about having one that is).

@@DoraTheExplorerSuperfan i have had too many -2’s and have been wanting a -3 for forever. I have a 6579, The green one, so if i wanted to use one with a headlight i’d use that. As for the Eureka it is a bit pricey, but i may go and grab it

It's sure coming along! I have now since serviced the motor and brushroll bearings, and am currently starting to wax the base and other plastic parts. This thing was so dirty that I had to go back and wash some parts twice, then do some very vigorous work with a Q tip and my finger to remove dirt from some of the crevices lol

There is a trick for removing those scratches but I’m pretty sure you may have done it before. 😊

When it comes to removing scratches from hoods/bases, I use 70% isopropyl alcohol and an old toothbrush to scrub out the paint transfer and minor scuffs, then I use Meguiars Mirror Glaze Professional "Show Car Glaze" car wax to wax it as well as other plastic parts such as the headlight lens and dirt container system as an example for this one. In fact that's what I was doing now lol I will say that unfortunately on this machine, some of the scratches are actually deep in the plastic itself and cannot be removed without sanding it down which would ruin the finish and look equally as bad IMO anyways.

Yeah, I know. They aren't bad and I greased them today anyways so they should survive for a while.
