PJ dude I’m in the same boat. I used to hate on the car after it happened but then I grew to love this car. There was a GT Silver example sitting for sale in Scottsdale with a 1.6M price tag. Imagine Porsche + V10 = incredible super car
1:50 I think the tires, specifically how they aged / became dangerous in doing so contributed most of the twitchiness to this chassis. Dynamically and from a physics perspective, it’s suspension geometry is very stable despite an aggressive oem alignment…

For a car that has 600hp with a six speed manual transmission, no driver assists, and a heavy clutch, I don't think it's easy to drive at all. Not to talk of driving it fast.
The shift knob and the pollen filter, a must.

I love motorweek, but sometimes the cars they review are a little funny. Like they'll review each year of some model, but don't cover certain brands at all or only once, or no trims. But the reviews are always so technical, defined, and well spoken.

Depends a lot of the manufacturer schedules and availability of media cars, and of course geographic limitations. They don't have a Porsche Carrera GT in every state just for media testing.
And to think, they couldn't sell them 😮😳😳😳😮 With hindsight, nowadays for only $500,000 collectors would buy 10 😎😎😎 Now Porsche has a program where they'll completely refresh/restore someone's CGT for ONLY $2 million USD, on top of the cost of the car wherever you buy it.

Even when this car came out and before there were stats I thought to myself...there is no way I would drive that unless it had awd. Too much power on a light chassis. And me not experienced enough. I had 0 trouble with my 3.8 converted Cayman that put out 400 hp. Anything higher with rwd and I would wrap it around a phone pole.
At 19 years old, this video would have been 3 years too old for Paul Walker to have dated.
