I had 3 door micra 1.5 se+ 4 years ago.. fabulous. Kept it 2 years. Put 50,000 miles on it. God knows why I sold it. ...anyway, fast forward 2 years, bought another micra. Same as yours, 1.5 dci Acenta, but 5 door on 42,000. These diesel fuelled models are getting hard to find. Enjoyed the video. Thanks

I still have the very car featured in this video and it has done all sorts with moving materials, tip runs and school runs and it has always been a dependable. Other than some suspension issues I had to sort on it last year and a dodgy boot switch it has been great. So I can see why you regret getting rid of your older one and eventually buying a 5 door diesel variant as it is a great little car that is easy to park, nippy and fun to drive! I hope yours gives you no issues and I wish you many more smiles per miles with your Nissan Micra!! Cheers, Tony - WTA

I've had both the 1.2 petrol and 1.5 dci. Around town there's not much to choose between them but on the motorway the 1.5 dci is much quicker and can maintain decent motorway speeds with a little extra to get you out of trouble when you need it.

They are a great car and I still have the diesel one featured in the video and as you have mentioned it drives really well on the motorway. Not sure about how the 1.2 drives but the diesel is like a little pocket rocket. Thanks for commenting. Cheers, Tony - WTA

Thanks for your video, very informative. I was disappointed with the MPG in the 1.5 dci. I use to have an old Corsa 1.5 diesel that did 70 MPG, but boy it was slow. I think Nissan have traded a bit of MPG for better acceleration . The official figures are 60.1 MPG and real world figures are between 49 to 73 averaging at 63.5 MPG , but i get about 50 MPG out of mine. Gave it an engine flush, and it seemed to make it a bit peppier, but i haven't noticed the Mpg improving. I'm getting the feeling that this car may have been remapped, 0-60 official time is 11.9, my car does it in 10.1. They are a good little town car, easy to drive and reliable. On the down side, it's not that comfortable after 100 miles, and the windows steam up very easily and the wipers hit the body making a noise. And they are not that stable over 90. They say you should drive this car over 1500 rpm and under 3400 rpm, peak power being at 3500 rpm. So revving of that is just wearing the engine unnecessarily.

You are very welcome and I am glad that I am not the only one thinking that the MPG isn't as good as it should be, but as you have mentioned it does accelerate really well. I did one of those trips where I filled the tank up and then when I got to my destination I re-filled the tank back up and worked out how many miles I got against the gallons that the tank needed to be filled up to and it worked out to be under 50MPG. Considering that the journey was mainly on the motorway I thought it was a bit low for a small diesel powered car. I am glad that you are getting the same MPG and as you have mentioned it is probably because it is factory tuned to have a bit more torque and a little less efficiency. Other than the above, it has been a good car and fairly reliable as you have mentioned and like what you have said you do know that you have done a long journey in it. I have recently done about 500 miles in one day in my Micra (which I still have) and I was glad to get out of it when I finished my journey. Thank you for commenting and I hope you have a great Christmas!!! Cheers, Tony - WTA

Thanks for your videos , Do your the anti lock breaks make a noise under emergency breaking? Mine does and i was told that is normal but it doesn't sound right to me. Your opinion would be much appreciated.

Hi there, I tried an emergency stop in the Micra featured in the video and there was no real noise other than the brakes fluctuating due to the abs kicking in so I am not sure if that is the noise you are hearing. It may be worth taking it to your local mechanic to see if they can test it for you. Otherwise there is a very helpful forum for the Nissan Micra K12 where you can pose your question and someone may be able to help you further. The link for it is www.micra.org.uk and I hope it helps you discover if you have an issue with your abs. Cheers, Tony - WTA

Sorry for the delay in replying to this comment. I have just checked and the Micra featured in this video does have a lever that raises and lowers the base of the seat, which is located to the right of the seat base. I would suggest that if you are looking for a Micra then see if it has the lever I am talking about and hopefully it will carry out the function you are after. Hope it helps! Cheers, Tony - WTA

Great cars but i wouldn't want the Renault diesel as it's a belt i believe instead of the reliable chains on the 1.2 and 1.6 petrol.

Ha ha I am sorry, I use the term 'You know' in videos as a fill in phrase where I am trying to multi-task in talking to camera, driving and thinking of what to say ahead of what I am talking about. It is just a thing I say and I don't think at the time that I am saying it, just one of those things I do I am afraid! Cheers, Tony - WTA
