2003-2009 Vespa GT200 carburetor cleaning no start issues GT 200L Granturismo
Hello everyone! I got called out to work on this Vespa after it had been sitting for approximately 2 years. It is a 2005 GT 200L. The Granturismo. It would not start. This video encompasses the battery replacement along with draining the fuel tank, removing, cleaning, and installing the carburetor. Produced with CyberLink PowerDirector 17

When I had my carb off, I removed that little fitting that attaches to the bottom of the float bowl and threw it away. I used a long piece of coolant hose, and just looped it. I'm assuming that part is intended to warm the gas in the float bowl, but I don't see how that could do any good. I have seen engines with heated manifolds, to help the air/fuel mixture atomize when it is cold. But heating the float bowl makes no sense to me. I live in AZ, where it doesn't get cold enough to make a difference anyway, and it's been running just fine for over 2 years without that thing. Now the carburetor can be removed a lot easier, without making a mess.
Bad move, carb is heated for many reasons.
Very useful, thank you for the sharing. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Interesting. I can take things apart. This will help (I suspect carburetor is fouled, sitting for a few weeks after staring perfectly after winter here .. Ontario 🇨🇦).

There is a little mechanical lever in the glove compartment. Opens the seat without battery power.
Spedo isn't working.
