    THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO LEON! Realy like this glow plug air gun. In Serbia most people buy diesels 15 years old with original glow plugs. I can just try to take them off but if I feel they are gonna snap I worn customer and if they snap I divert them to another garage to extract them.But this gun could be solution.

    Scoping a pump is a great quick way to check its health! customer is in for an oil change, scope the pump, pump is no good = save the customer a possible break down / no-start in the future. Some will think it's a "money grab", but once you show them & explain the waveform... they end up thanking you!

    Thomas EXOVCDS yeah trying to explain to the customer you potentially found a problem before it happens is very difficult to explain as you know yourself it can be a lot easier to let them break down first that's the only time they will believe you

  • @StupidBlokeStupidVideos
    @StupidBlokeStupidVideos4 жыл бұрын

    I’m only a few mins into the video and ready to be proven wrong but I think the glow plugs is a red herring in the starting issue. Unlike old injector pump engines like xud Engines’s these common rail direct injection engines don’t usually rely on the heater plugs in any weather we usually get in this country. I’m suspicious of the in tank pump if it has one, dci engines in my experience don’t usually have them, injectors could still be the fault. I’d be having a leak off tester onto them and also spraying a some oil around them when running checking for bubbles.

    Yep, that fuel pump was sure nackered from the looks of the waveform, and those glow plugs have probably been open for a long time :) And never knew they had a specific impact tool to take out glow plugs. Looking like you're way onto getting her out the door.

    stuzman the tool for the removein glow plugs is brilliant as it's not powerful enough to snap them but the vibrations can certainly help free it up sometimes it can take a couple of minutes but I rather take a few minutes then to snap them

    Hi bud! Just came across this! And I have got a 2002 master 2.2 it takes ages to start, the filter is minging (diesel) so I've replaced it, but still if you put your foot down it dies, like it hasn't got enough fuel! Would you call the low pressure pump? As the issue?

    Former comment is a 2.5 diesel non turbo, sorry i forgot...armytruck bought in auction....no spoken history at all....so we have check everything.been standing long, with old diesel....they towed the car in action, and it took a few footballfields to get it going???....that kind of surprises me, that it took that long, but it drove fine after that long tow....drove 30 miles till home....could it run with faulty fuelpump,?

  • @rzepekpl

    Good way of testing pump with a scope but why risk breaking plugs and not checking them with a multimeter first? They would be most likely open or showing very high resistance, also some plugs on some cars are very hard to access, the beauty of a multimeter is that you don't need to get to the plugs really, you can jest test them at the connector or from the fuse box providing the wiring is good.

    Hi brother, just subscribed, master 99, crank no start, dont have scantool....tests we did: we listened for primepumpaction by listening in tank, aside tank, in motorcompartment,, zero noice....opened up a dieselline, no dieselflow at all....my question: has the 99 model lowpressure intankpump as well?....is there a hadge to get to in from above in the van?...there is a manual peerformed pusher, to manually prime the filter, on the left.....i changed the filter, filled it with clean diesel, and bleeded the filter with upper screw....even with this full filter, i didnt have any flow, just before the mainfuelpump....no drip, even by cranking....could the mainpump be at fault as well?...where are the relays? These masters dont really tell us on the cover of the fuzes, do they? Strange french car....also the injectors are hidden under a plastic cuver...how bizarrrr man! Thank for your effort to film and explain, Bob Belgium🇧🇪🍺keep safe Brother!

    Hi Leon, i have a few questions if you could answer them for me.1) when checking fuel pressure on a diesel low pressure pump(lift pump) .is it better to test by disconnecting the fuel feed line that goes into the fuel filter and installing the fuel pressure gauge in line using a tee to varify the correct pressure of the low pressure/ lift pump? 2)can this be done on all common rail diesels this way. 3) I have a fuel injection master kit for petrol with all adapters with it.The gauge reads up to 140 psi and 10 bar would i be ok using this type of gauge just on the low pressure side to test fuel pressure on common rail.Obviously i know you cannot use this gauge for any high pressure side tests as it is too low of a gauge for that. Look forward to your reply .Thanks for the vids .Be nice to see a vid on some of the testing procedures and myths regarding diesel testing .KZread seems to be more on showing petrol system testing more than diesel .Thats why i love your vids when you show troubleshooting diesels.Also love all the other vids as well of course .

    martinguitarhd28 all depends on the car to where you can connect the gage some cars have a Schrader valve that you can pay off but what I like to do it I like to test without the fuel filter in place this way you can make sure the pump is working 100% then I like to test after the fuel filter if the Reading is the same you know the fuel filter is ok if the Reading is lower you know you have a problem with the fuel filter I will do a video on this shortly as well and hopefully that would make more sense

    Hi mate unfortunately I haven't worked on them particularly ones but it's like everything it all depends on how they were looked after before regular service does wonders to an engine as you will know the older ones I have worked on to be fair to them apart from the usual wear and tear and a couple of crankshaft sensors nothing really has gone wrong with them EGR valves to our problem if you can get one that was well looked after and well maintained then you are in sorry I cannot be more helpful as I haven't worked on the newer ones
