My pleasure. Like I said make sure when the key is turned on that you have the heater turned to heat, they will make sure the valve is open so water will flow through. Keep in mind if it is old and rusty you might bust a hole in it with water pressure, but mine was fine. Go gentle it first to see if it will help

Mike Point Don’t do like I did and try it with the valve closed. I needed to turn the key on and then switch it to heat because it’s electronically controlled so make sure you do that first bud

@@dylonpost3261 No, you don’t want to run the car while there is no water in it. Make sure to have the heater switch turned on before you try it though. The key can be left off I’m pretty sure, but you want to make sure the valve stays open so the water can get through. That’s where I messed up on the video, that’s why it sprayed all over instead of pushing through. Good luck.

When I turned the key to acc while on heat, I saw the valve opened and the water flowed. Maybe ......

9-28-2019 - - Thank you for this. I have a 1987 honda prelude and need to flush the heater core. I'm presuming the heater in/out connections are in a similar place behind the air intake ducts. Wouldn't it be easier to attach some five or six foot lengths of hose to the heater core and do this all outside the engine compartment to prevent water spraying everything? Just asking.

q7winq7 sure that sounds like a good idea, you would just have to make sure the hose was connected really good with hose clamps but not a problem at all. It’s always cool to catch the old water and see what kind of stuff came out of it and there was blocking it. The only thing you really have to worry about water getting into on that side is the intake obviously and also the distributor cap. Not that big of a deal, you can put a shopping bag over the intake and you can also put one over the distributor cap.

q7winq7 Mine sprayed water out at me because I didn’t have it turned to the heat position while the key was on, a lot of that stuff is electrical that a motor moves with power. Other than that it shouldn’t spray into the engine compartment that bad

Whats tjat part to the left of the heater core intake and return hose????????? Please i flushedy coolant system and that piece jad water flowing out

Not sure what you’re talking about, the only thing I see is that black thing that looks like a charcoal canister and that shouldn’t have water in it I don’t believe
