$2000 Mercedes S-Class - How bad can it be?

I bought a 200,000 mile 2001 Mercedes S-Class for only $2,000, and I'm going to compare it to my super clean 2004 S-Class to see how bad it is! (or how good?)

I have a silver 2004 S500 that I like a lot as well, great cars if you take care of them!

Nice buy! Bought my 2001 CLK 320 about 3 years ago around the same price, sits around 240,000 miles now, and outside of normal maintenance and a fuel pump change, it’s been a dream. Hope this one turns out awesome for you!

Nice! I also saved a C230K, so I'm sure the CLK is plenty of fun! Is yours a convertible or coupe? Mercedes can be great when taken care of, and it seems like this one was taken care of for a while at least. Looking forward to having new struts on it so stays at the right height!

@@frenchineerIt’s a blast to drive, it’s the coupe, V6. Just an all around fun car to have, still holds up well. Like you said, if you take care of them they’re awesome cars. Hopefully you’re able to get yours all straightened out and looking fresh again!

Wow! I think $2000 is great even if you have to spend money on it. It has so many +++++. I'll be watching to see if I'm right. Good luck!

That's a ton of car for $2k. That squeak sounds expensive though!

We need to figure out what's causing it, but hopefully I can find out while I work on the suspension!

@@frenchineerAll Mercedes cars have the rear axel outer bushes, which tend to squeak when they go bad. They are dirty cheap and easy to change if you have the right tool, which is quite cheap, too.

That's good to know! Our squeak right now is from the front left, and I think I just found what's causing it. It's much worse than I expected but it'll be fixed when we replace the suspension!
