20 years after: Sneaking into a hazardous power plant

Somewhere in Italy near the Mediterranean sea, a piece of history was just left to rot. Located in a giant industrial area, we seek out a remarkable engineering project that is falling apart - with unseen insights and untold stories. This video features a 1950s power plant that became outdated and obsolete a while ago. We find old, almost forgotten machines but also new life returning to a place that is hazardous to man. Join us in unveiling a forgotten chapter of industrial history! #urbex #abandonedplaces #bwturbex

I like abandoned houses the most but industrial buildings like this one are interesting too. Before watching videos like yours and The Proper People's I never thought about seeing beauty in places like an old power plant. But it's there, in the graceful curves of a machine, the blue skylights and the birds and plants living there now.

I quite enjoy your industrial sites in a very different way from your mansions. They invite your awesome use of framing, angles, and contrast. I was alive when this plant was built, and yet, in parts, it takes on a sci-fi futuristic appearance...and in others, an almost Victorian feel. Your eyes never miss a thing, and you edit beautifully among closeup and, mid ground, and distance shots, stitched together by amazing cinematics. Thank you for taking such care with your subjects...and stay safe out there.🖤🇨🇦

@@bwturbex I hope that in the near future that we can get all people to start cleaning up after themselves and to respect and protect wilderness areas. When they're gone, we're gone too. Unfortunately no one knew the dangers of asbestos in the past. I worked in an older factory insulated with asbestos. They had to close it down an clean it up. It took years and I wonder how many fibers they released into the air. I wasn't aware until this video that cleaning it up was so hazardous. Your videos educate as well as entertain.

I enjoy videos of any location but power plants and abandoned industry are my favorite. Until very recently, I had a really awesome abandoned steel mill in my town, that I spent many afternoons exploring. It had been in the beginning stages of demolition when I first went in almost 2 years ago and now most of the building are gone. The power house was incredible. Very sad but now all that's left of it are the photos/videos I took of it. There is just something captivating to me about giant old turbines and control rooms/panels.

Seagulls are rude, noisy neighbors, shouting to each other. I'm somewhat amazed at the number of places, residential, commercial, and industrial, where it appears that one day, either everyone departed or never returned from an absence. Then Nature moves in and takes over. Humans are ephemeral. This complex is*HUGE!* Stay safe, everyone.

These plants were small. I worked at Rohner and we had 3m tall trees growing out of cracks in the roof! Needless to say, this caused water to go through and we had buckets and mold everywhere... The plant has been abandoned for a year now. You can read the news on why...

I really liked the place and the video as always. Beautiful colors, light and music. Especially music. It's always good! I prefer public spaces and industry. But from time to time it is also exciting to look at homes when there is interesting architecture and story behind it. I like to read about endangered and disappearing architecture from iconichouses.org - icons at risk, docomomo.com - heritage in danger etc. It is sad to see that many beautiful and interesting places disappear.
