I was in Manila - 4 days away from my return to the US - when the London Liquid Bomber story broke. This is when they put carry restrictions on toothpaste and water bottles. I think we landed in Nagoya. The ladies who were selling these expensive bottles of whiskey were chanting "Duty-free, Duty-free, *unless you are going to the United States then you can't carry any liquids* ... Duty Free.." Whereas before I was glad to return to my home country, the contrast between the polite and friendly Japanese workers and the stern authoritarian tone of US Homeland Security officials was stark.

here's a rare opportunity for peace in philipinnes. the bangsamoro basic law essentially helps to separate rebels from terrorsts. the government must take the opportunity to help create jobs for the moros. most people become terrorists because they see no future. that is not true, they have always been treated well since then, even in schools their courage and resilience when the Spaniards conquered the Islands of the Philippines were always taught in schools, and that's why they are respected, there are only Radical Muslims who are always causing trouble in Mindanao so there are some people who don't want to live with them, because the rebels mix with the civilians, but not all Muslim civilians are bad, many of them just want to live peacefully and away from trouble, and not all people have a bad view of them all. You're probably an Indonesian/Malaysian, they always talk about the Philippines as if they live here and knew everything lol Even spreading fake news and false information.

This is also the reason why I think bright future in the Philippines is bleak. I'm a Filipino and I know how hard life is even if you're in the city. Inflation really hits the common folks here, you really don't know if you could afford to eat 3 proper meals a day and still have to worry about the housing and utility bills. Not to mention almost those who work under small companies earns minimum wage that became a standard given wage by even the large companies and yet the requirements are ridiculous, like already gained experience related to the field and you are a college graduate but still offers the worst employment and working experience for these hired employees. Also the government is filled with more corrupt officials, over the years of different regimes, they just grew in number and still reign holding onto their choice of province. It also portrays the lack of education among Filipinos to care and carefully choose the right and honest politician to vote for each district. But although I don't want to generalize, the consequences also lies within its citizens as they are all believing every empty promises of these politicians over the years of being lied to for improvement. I just can't no more write down any list in my plate, I just know that everything is f*cking everyone, and we are not even starting on climate change topic.

Because the flag doesnt mean anything but tradition, exchanges of patch happens. In Philippine soldiers case those who have trained with or was trained by foreign counterpart (you will see some of them wear US or Australian flag patch) Whatever your interpretation of in the ground US soldiers didnt participate in in the fighting the USMC MARSOC was really there (confine to military camp near the city) in support or advisory role, they use their drones to provide intel a MARSOC sniper rifle was used in the fighting though and has killed terrorists but it was borrowed used by Philippine Tier 1 SOF the LRR when their sniper rifles were exhausted. That information came from a publish book about the LRR, their sniper team accounts 80+ ofpor KIA.
