You’re understating what we actually did to Iraq and to the Middle East in general. The US hasn’t just “trespassed” or whatever, they’re destroyed countries, killed hundreds of thousands of people, and committed countless war crimes against civilians. We’ve murdered journalists, bombed mosques and hospitals, and tortured anyone we think is a terrorist. We’ve toppled democratically elected leaders and harm the people living there. Groups like ISIS and Al Qaeda are evil, but they were created as a response to American imperialism. What those groups have done is nothing compared to the atrocities committed by the American military over the past several decades.

You can’t possibly fathom how it feels watching this and thinking about what my life could’ve been if they haven’t done that to my country. Setting aside all the horrible terror we experienced as a child, they destroyed us, destroyed our lives and our parents' lives, messed up our future and ambitions, and we are now being called terrorists? Everywhere I go they turn me down when I mention I’m an Iraqi at work and all else. What have I done man? Are these the rulers of the world? Destroying their own homes, killing their people, saying it was a terrorist organization, cluelessly tying that organization to a poor and weak country, invading them under the message of “freeing its people”, keep fighting so you don’t look bad, and give up with an ultimate carnage as the result, and being defeated? And they can sleep? One day. Nothing else, but that day when they are shaking in the shrine of God and repenting for all they did.

@@joedenathan4775 A favorable oil deal was a pretty big deal in the first half of 2000; remember the oil crisis of 1970; many things changed since then; the production of oil by the US; the price of oil and the price of oil extraction. It all changed now. And honestly, I don't think anybody was thinking that this war is going to cost 1t in 2003 and will go on for around 20 years in one way or another. That being said; yeah; it is true; oil wasn't the deciding factor; it was only the cherry on top. If you look into the evidence actually; I can't see much of a reason for the Iraq war except the need of the government to show a decisive action after an attack to satisfy the public. Exactly what this video suggests. Anything else, like oil and geopolitical reasons, seem only to be additional factors.

Never heard before that the embargoes in the 70s were a result of our support for Israel! I love essays like this because of the details that complete the picture. So even if I think I can generally answer the questions that you pose in your titles, I still watch, for the insights you provide. My younger brother was a jet mechanic in the US Navy when 9/11 happened. In late October my mother and I flew to see him for 24 hours before his unit was posted overseas - we didn't know where. He made it home safe but not whole. I grieve for the Iraqi people and their terrible suffering. I've seen a few videos about American soldiers from that time, expressing their own feelings of betrayal and disgust towards their own government for the lies they were told. They live with the anguish of everyone's losses and pain, having seen it or participated in it. Every war we've been in since the nineteen sixties is easily exposed for the profiteering and propaganda machines that it is.

I am from Iraq 🇮🇶🤍, and my father and uncle were killed during this war. I thank you for making this video to tell the true story about Iraq. I appreciate this and I hope that the Americans and the British know that the Iraqis love them and only want peace. *شكراً لك* ♥️ Just an edit. I do not like the criminal American and British governments. I hate these terrorists, especially politicians and soldiers. I just love the countries, peoples and people in America and Britain who stood with us before and after the war. Thank you for your sympathy. I hope you visit our country. It has become more secure and stable since 2017.

I am Indian and I really feel sad that cradle of human civilization "Mesopotamia" has now turned into hub of foreign terrorist. Buddy USA has given India a lot of pain but it is not the fault of Entire USA or Normal American citizens. I have observe a pattern I guess you too have observed it, can you tell me whenever DEMOCRATS are in power war generally happens at least one or two places in the world and USA is directly or indirectly involved in that war. During Trump rule, we rarely heard about USA going into war but in time of Biden UKRAINE IS IN WAR WITH RUSSIA. Democrats are the one who wanted to keep the salve system alive in USA but Republicans has stopped slavery of Blacks in USA. AMERICA is not the problem but the problem is democrats and their greed. However I have seen many Indian vloggers and youtubers are now going to IRAQ and whatever I see in their Video it seems like Iraq is not that bad and dangerous as it used to be during the time of daish(ISIS).

It is known that during the era of Saddam, if anyone belonging to Al-Qaeda was arrested, the authorities would execute him, and this is a position completely opposed to Al-Qaeda .One of America's primary goals was to destroy the Iraqi army because it was classified as the fourth strongest army in the world, and it did not want the oil regions to be strong and armed in order to always remain under American control, which would ensure the continued flow of oil to them and control the oil market.

i’m truly so ashamed and humiliated of all the suffering America has caused other countries and all of their people. i’m also furious coming to the realization that we aren’t taught the TRUTH in our history classes, we aren’t even taught history within the last decade, they don’t want us knowing the truth or having any real knowledge, they want us brainwashed. Our government has Americans so brainwashed by controlling what we learn, what we hear on the news, trying to control our social media, they have us all right where they want us to be. I’ve learned more the past few days diving into history on my own through youtube and social media than i ever did in school, and as an American i just want to apologize to anybody anywhere that has had to experience any suffering due to our disgusting government. And I hope and pray that my generation will make a positive impact and difference in some way, social media is literally where we are learning the truth and opening our eyes after being raised and fed on lies, I’m really just hoping we can make a difference before it’s all too late.
