Saw a story of a guy who lived through a botched injection execution. The state put him to death and he lived. They legally had to let them out. Inside Death Row with Trevor McDonald is a must watch if you liked this video. Sir Trevor is a legend and his documentary gives a true insider look into the daily life of the inmates. It has depth and meaning giving credence to both sides of the argument. The warden of the prison's also get a look. One of the best docs out there.

I understand that people on death row did horrible things and deserve consequences, but shouldn't we as a society aim higher than being "as humane" as murderers. Especially because of people getting exonerated years and decades after their deaths. And people who are able to get released during their lifetimes have already been severely emotionally and physically damaged. Many of them die decades earlier than they would have if not imprisoned.

The comments here make me sad. At the end of the day, capital punishment and life on death row is extremely inhumane. It doesn't reduce crime. All it does is fulfill the bloodlust and vengeance that lives in the human heart. Not to mention that the justice system often fails to do due diligence in making sure that they have the right guy, so many innocent people end up in prison including death row. It's not that I don't have compassion for the victims and their families. But know that the human mind is fallible and can be very irrational, especially when bereaved. Many cases are messed up from the start of the investigation, and often you see people jumping on the first suspicious person in their eagerness to find someone to punish. Often, these people won't even change their mind with new evidence. I remember seeing several true crime shows where and innocent person was exonerated with advancements in DNA technology, but the victim's families and the original prosecutors still stubbornly believed that they were guilty. Even if death row wasn't cruel and unusual punishment (it is) and even if it was effective in reducing crime (it's not), I don't trust that our justice system at all. Years in prison ruins lives, but at least people have a chance to rebuild their life after being released. You can't take back death.

People that are on death row, are not there for swiping a mars bar at a tuck shop. 1% may be innocent, if that. The whole idea that someone who has done some absolute absurd crime and has been proven beyond reasonable doubt, ie, multiple witnesses, is somehow innocent is just ridiculous. If you have taken multiple innocent lives, you dont deserve a second chance. I couldnt care less how their family feels knowing their member is on death row, how about the families of the victims? No, i dont feel sorry for them.

Why should a death row inmate be given "social interaction" or be treated "humanely"??? Did they give their victims "social interaction" did they provide a "humane" death??? The answer is NO, NO, NO!!!! I don't believe ANYONE should be abused, but there is a BIG difference between abuse and not being able to watch TV, or being unable to spend 3 hours at the gym, etc. None of their victims are able to have those "luxuries" why are their killers allowed to??? You reap what you sow. Jmho

Why is this whole thing trying to make us feel bad for the prisoners on death row? I personally think they get WAY to many appeals. Tax payers are footing the bill so they can avoid the inevitable for way to long. And if you're on death row that means you did something inhumane you loose the right to be treated humanly.

Why do you want us to sympathize with these people? They are people that committed heinous crimes. They don’t get the right to be happy and healthy while in jail. They lost their right when they chose to take the lives of other people.

This seems more like an ad for some ethics group pushing for better treatment of men/women who committed some of the worst acts humans can commit. Yes the legal system is flawed. Yes society is flawed. Yes humans are flawed. These men/women didn't care about their victims, the victims families or even their own families. Sounds harsh but personally I believe they should be happy to be alive even if it isn't a perfect life. They chose to do the crime let them live with the consequences.

Why does this feel like a love letter to death row inmates? You're talking about dignity, rehabilitation & other sweet nonsense for people who've proven to be monsters. I think you should be more concerned with NOT putting innocent people on death row. Political correctness is destructive.

Yea they keep forgetting that at the end of the day, life is not as black and white as it might seem. All or almost all comments are literally just showing revenge, and they forget that at the end of the day just because somebody committed a crime we shouldn’t treat them like an animal, since thats not only ethically wrong, but its also technically against the 8th amendment right.
