Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video we are flying our 1977 Cessna 340A (N140TP) back from a quick showing in Lompoc, CA. The Cessna 340A is a pressurized twin with two Continental TSIO-520 engines that produce 310 hp. The plane is a nice little family or business plane with 6 seats and a great range. Our Cessna 340A N140TP also got upgraded avionics, a new interior done in 2011, paint done in 2015, 4525 hrs of total time and just 278 hours since both engines were overhauled. Again, this aircraft is for sale currently (04/21) and the listing can be found below.

Rich... Your KILLIN' ME!! As much as I love Baron's, it's Really hard to compete with a 340. Most of my multi-time (1,000 hours) is in a 402B. One of the beauties of twin Cessna's; they all basically fly the same. 310 thru 421... learn the numbers and that's it. As for this airplane... glass panel, 300 hour engines, hot props and boots. There's Nothing Wrong with the 400 AP/FD. Find someone to buy the movie rights to my books and... "It Be Mine!" Seriously, though, based upon everything you said and we saw in the video, a person would have to go a long way to find a better 340! You were correct, by the way; the 340 had 285hp engines, the 'A' model 310hp engines and several of the RAM modifications had the 325hp version.

I noticed that this plane didn't have the Cessna Windshield Anti-Ice Hot Plate kit? Has this plane gone through the up-grade to a fully replaced heated windshield? Just curious.

January 2nd 1983 I was standing in formation Bttry-D 1st/51st Air Defense Artillery 7th ID Ft Ord, CA. Monterey Bay area. I was 16P-10 Chaparral Missile Gunnery Crewman - Just a mere PFC at the time. I was at the position of attention and sneakily eyeing the airplane - a Cessna 340A as it came along with it's low flying noise. Then it started popping and sputtering and running again then popping and sputtering and running and then coughing and wheezing and running then sputtering. This went on just beyond the sandy cliffs and dunes out over the bay near the shore directly in front of me. I could see it most of the time. It was VERY low. My platoon sergeant E-7 sgt Langer said "Someone is in trouble". - Then the cartoon noises stopped. Yes. It sounded EXACTLY like cartoon sound effects of a sick dying motor. But it ended - after what seemed like a GOOD 10 - 15 minutes of cartoony noises. During that 10 or 15 minutes of sputtering and coughing - the air defense artillery crewman in a few of us came out. "GU-11, 12 O'Clock low." (GU-11 = Gull). Another would correct that guy's aircraft identification skills error with "No - it's a B1-RD, you see, the rear empennage has a longer dorsal hump - and type is not listed as hostile, it's behavior is not hostile, you haven't even challenged it with IFF, what are you doing breaking silence with this nonsense, soldier?" YOU MEN ARE AT THE POSITION OF ATTENTION! Ahem! click - snap! (as we stiffen up and true up our postures) - someone farted right then. It was Spec-4 Puente.Choking and coughing and gagging and vomiting as those hung-over from too much new-years celebrating had weak constitutions, you see. It smelled like burnt hair, fancy feast filet & pate', rice paddy culvert fermenting and vomit - with a hint of Roquefort. DISMISSED! PUENTE REPORT TO BATTALION AID! - the cartoony noises were going on this whole time. Turns out: he had just taken off from Monterey and they had mistaken his plane for a Beech King Air and filled him up with Jet A. All 4 souls on the plane survived with minor injuries. The pilot put it down 100 yards from shore. Two swam to shore and probably went and got a drink somewhere. Coast Guard grabbed the other two. The plane sank in five minutes and was not recovered. I then later became an A&P and was mindful of that poor guy's refueling mistake.

Do not be tempted to interpret hours on an airplane like miles on a car. The low hours on this airframe (4500h in 45 years) are NOT a good sign! It could very well indicate a "ramp queen" that has spent decades sitting inside or outside somewhere, and there could be a lot of corrosion and disuse issues waiting to manifest. I don't mean to issue any criticism to this particular aircraft - only a general warning that low hours compared to years of life is a red flag for aircraft, requiring further inspection of every system and avery nook and cranny of the airframe. Nice video though!

@@FlyingwithRich Correct! Particularly with twins, which have suffered in popularity over the past years. At the very least it requires a careful logbook inspection, as it is usuallly not 100h a year for 45 years, but 400h/year for ten years, then zero hours for 30 years, then 100h/year for the past five years, after some restoration. Low hours per age is a potential warning flag, but the logbooks tell the whole story (when they can be found).
